It is a two day old injury I have. I think the technical clinical term is βdumb aπ°π°
π
Thanks!! ππ
Go with the military standard, RICE, rest, ice, compression, elevation. You can't compress your diaphragm or you'll suffocate, but you can elevate your torso some, get a comfy position, and alternate heating pad and cold.
I'm more curious how you got the injury... The only times I pulled muscles in my abdomen were quite silly, vigorous and enjoyable activities, so much so that I never noticed until the next day, ooh boy, I threw my back out trying to go for 2 hours straight, baby! get me the lidocaine strips, ibuprofen, and your ass over here to cuddle until I feel better! lol
I've never specifically torn muscles in that region but my thing for torn muscles is always ice and heat and anti-inflammatory painkillers. You alternate ice packs and heat packs while taking an inflammatory to reduce the swelling. I've always favored ice in those cases since they numb the pain much faster but I've noticed that it tends to delay healing if you don't alternate with heat -- like the cold will numb the pain and let you sleep but you can wake up hurting just as bad the next day. So hot and cold together is the thing as I see it.
I am confused about where this issue really is you have mentioned the lower back, diaphragm and neck. To a medical person that's a very broad territory. It very hard to try and pinpoint what this could be in order to offer a treatment recommendation.
That might be more serious than it sounds.
Consulting a trained medical provider might be necessary.

Vivant I'm really sorry about your injury. My non-expert opinion would be rest and OTC pain relievers. I personally use Alleve or the generic equivalent (naproxen sodium) and it works for me. My non-expert prognosis is that this will heal on its own as you try not to reagravate the injury.

If you got a straight chair to sit in that is one thing that helped me when my back was giving out and I have one Chiropracter who I swear by she is the only one who helps me to feel better and when I'm hurting I go see her, so might want to consider that but make sure you have no broken bones
Thank you π
@VIVANT You're welcome, Hope you feel better (( Hugs ))
Generally ibuprofen or Advil/Motrin is the NSAID of choice for that typical injury for anti-inflammatory effects. Here is a more detailed information for a muscle strain or torn muscle.

Anytime my friend. π i hope you feel better.
Torn muscles take time to repair. You want to increase blood flow to the area, so intermittent heat is best. Some pain relievers can work against increasing your blood flow, so ask your doc or research them. Mostly, you need to rest it, stay really hydrated ( that DOES help blood flow ) use heat, eat foods with vitamins and minerals that promote healing, and don't strain the area. Stretching can make it worse, and acupuncture will relieve symptoms, but not help the healing process. If you can take hot baths that will help too. You may think to add epsom salts, but don't... that just dehydrates you more and your muscles need lots of water internally to repair themselves.
because of sports, what has worked for me with both torn muscles and also knot muscles, is a focused message therapy on the area, either to know the muscle that needs healing, or to find those knots.
I don't know for sure, but I think than an electric massager would focus on a certain area, while the hands will know how to find that specific area and focus on it
I've never experienced that, so don't have any direct advice, but as a related tip: if talking is painful or hard to understand, a recording of commonly-used words and phrases ("yes", "no", "maybe", "sort of", "I can't talk due an injury", etc.) can help make communication easier; your phone probably has a recording function that could do the job if you don't have a dictaphone. Or, more likely, if you don't know what a dictaphone is.
Me birch bark and neetle tea for pain
Lots of rest, stretching and every 4 hrs ice bath follow by hot bath
Just pour boiling hot McDonalds coffee down your back and wear mr freeze icey pop on your back.

Do Not Really Do That. It Will Hurt
When I was lifting, I heard a crack in my leg and the pain shot up to my lower back. I have no idea what it is to this day, but it went away with some rest.
It happens.
So what happened to your dogs leg?
a simple pain reliever should work. it has done wonders for me
Heating pad, chair massage. and Rest... my back is like a shattered pretzel rod. Fused and Herniated Discs
All of the above except for acupuncture and hot water bottle. I really like a massager though
Haha well I think it is. I just let it roll over my body
Acupuncture is awesome I must say. But, cold pressed castor oil works pretty good for in the mean time.
rest is the only cure, then you will need to stretch to get movement back, but rest 2 or 3 weeks
Rest and muscle relaxers if you want to know the rest of the cats story private message me
I am not sure about speech, but if muscle is twisted on lower back there is ointment which I gel based called ketrogel if you apply it the pain and soreness will go within two days
I'd say it's worth asking a doctor or pharmacist about but icy hot patch or maybe a throat drop 🤔
I have no idea, other than the doctor.
You have no choice but suck it up and let it heal
I'm not good with medical advice, but I would say see a physical therapist.
No easy way to heal that. Just wait it out.
