FOR WOMEN 5'9" AND ABOVE AND MEN 6'1" AND ABOVE...
If you had an adult who was the same gender as you, and much shorter than you, would you consider them and all others else like them to be "short"? Or can they also still be tall?
For example, can a 6'1" woman think of a 5'11" guy as being "tall" as well, or is he just short? Can a 6'6" guy think of a 5'10" lady as being legitimately "tall", or would he just think she's "tall for a girl (but not actually tall)?"
I'm a manlet myself (only 71"); I LOATHE it beyond all words, and have had two tall women (three if you count my late ex) paradoxically not consider me to be "short," even though they are all taller than me. I once met a beautiful, gorgeous blonde 6'6" (197 cm) college volleyball player. Her boyfriend was 6'0.5" (184 cm) tall. We were talking and I brought up how envious I was of her height. She was like: "You're not short! No, you're a good height! You're one of us [tall people]; don't worry about it!" That was like, five years ago, on the 4th of July. I'm still confused about it, to this day.
Like, I seriously CAN'T understand that! Even if they say "you're above average," that's still not "tall." That just means "average" guys in the country I'm from are even f*cking TINIER than I am! Like ant-boys. Two largest ethnicities of American men, white and black, seem to be more like 6'1" on "average," but the short Asian and Mexican men, who are usually like 5'7", bring down the national average to be 5'10".
Like, help me understand. Can someone you tower over still be considered "tall" to you? Especially if you're a woman, referring to a guy. Or, are you like me and just see anyone shorter or taller than you as subjectively short or tall.
