  Just off to bed, but I will field this the best I can. Sounds like a strain. You wouldn't believe how interconnected muscles are in the head/neck/back. That would be my first guess is overuse.
  
  Whenever concern, best to see a doctor. It could be due to pinched nerve or number of other reasons. Hope you feel better!
