I can't figure out if he didn't want me to come on the vacation because he was still mad?

So me and this guy were good friends for about 4 years. Two years ago we started having sex. We aren't officially together because he doesn't want to be. We hang out all the time and he is emotionally there for me and I really can't complain. We went to the beach together for a week. During this time, I accidentally knocked out his 2 front teeth (they're actually veneers so not permanent teeth). He was very drunk and I was mostly sober at this time (long story about how the teeth got knocked out). We went home, got the teeth fixed and actually went back to the beach. I offered to pay for the teeth and he seemed fine and said he knew it was an accident. The week after this, we were supposed to go on vacation with his family. He acted like I was still going on the vacation with his family and we even talked about it during the last few days of the first vacation. On the last night there, he told me I wasn’t coming on the family vacation. He said his mom said I wasn’t allowed to come because she was angry about the teeth. So he left on vacation and hasn’t text me all week and we always talk. After he got home (which was today), he tweeted that he was going out with some friends. I can’t figure out if he didn’t want me to come on the vacation because he was still mad about his teeth or if he didn’t know how to tell me his mom didn’t want me to come? He also seems mad given the fact that he hasn’t texted me and is going out without me right now but he said he was fine right after it happened. Does anyone have any insight on why he is doing this?
