I supplement with this now:

+1 yI had that for the first time this year. I think mine was caused by swallowing hot penne pasta lmao. It lasted a week. Very painful. I could hardly talk or eat. I drank a lot of warm tea (I HATE WARM TEA!) and ate lots of cough drops and took lots of acid pills.

Ughhhh! We had penne pasta last night too! But the doc says it’s from an upper respiratory infection. I just had chicken noodle soup and tea! Are we the same person? Lol. But I love tea.
- +1 y
I think the penne causes it. I just ate some tonight and made sure to eat it cold lmaoo 🤣

+1 yI had an abscess in my gums once that caused a lump in my neck. I went to the dentist, who lanced it... blood everywhere... felt really good... no more pain, no more lump.
Did Urgent Care tell you to do anything in particular? A lymph node swelling would usually indicate an infection of some kind, and I would expect they would give you something for that.15 Reply- +1 y
They did not give me anything for the infection strangely enough.

Maybe a second opinion is worthwhile?
- +1 y
Possibly.

Thanks for the "getting better" update. I hope it will continue to go down.
- +1 y
Thanks for the mho
+1 yYes, I have had Hodgkins and several inflamed lymph nodes. Thankfully you saw the doctor. try hot tea with honey and a warm wet washcloth on your neck. Try and rest as much as possible and talk as little as possible. Unfortunately, was cancer and took a year of chemo.

I am really sorry to hear that. Thank you.

I have been in remission for 25+ years so all is good! It certainly changes you and makes you appreciate life!

+1 yOf course. One more thing to annoy you, right? Yeah, that’s incredibly annoying right after you’ve been sick. Although it is probably a side effect of the illness that you just got over. I had a few lingering side effects after being sick last year too.
14 Reply- +1 y
Yes. Just what I needed. Thanks.
- +1 y
Mine were swolen a few weeks back too but went away after about a week so hopefully it doesn’t last six weeks.
- +1 y
Me too!
- +1 y
Ah. So relieved it’s feeling better already.
Just had this happen a month or two ago and im pretty sure they gave me steroids to deal with it. It eventually went away and for a few days I was able to get sick gains on the weight bench.
22 Reply- +1 y
Amazing lol. I was on steroids for the cough! Just ended a few days ago.
+1 yI drain my adrenal glands when that happens. I learned from my Applied Kinesiologist/Chiropractors through the years. It works for the light pain in the beginning of an ear infection too sometimes. Also some types of headaches.
Just saying this as it works to speed recovery. I’m not licensed to explain it.
Maybe call around for locals in your area and go see them?03 Reply- +1 y
Wow. Ok. I’ll look into that. Thank you.
- +1 y
You’re welcome. Make sure they are AK Chiropractors. Regular chiropractors won’t be as good.

Good info. :)

I have one on my neck since birth. All the doctors have told me just not to touch it. Nothing to worry about. Now it seems like it has almost gone down

+1 yI've had them. The only thing that really helps is time. A warm wash cloth can help a bit with any pain.

I will try that. Thank you.

4.9K opinions shared on Health & Fitness topic. I think it is one of those things that has to go away on it's own. Either that or maybe cortisone shot but don't go out and give yourself one of these on my say so.
16 Reply- +1 y
Haha! The doc said it has to go down. I was hoping for a home remedy.
- +1 y
I’m taking a break from drinking 😇
- +1 y
Maybe. I’m coming up with a moderation plan for myself now.
+1 yOn the one hand, it indicates that you have an immune system, which these days is a good thing! On the other hand, you're right; it's a PITA. As a kid, I use to get this a LOT as my adenoids and tonsils were ALWAYS swelling up from ear and throat infections. This is also why doctors and dentists examine under your jaw. Swelling of these areas indicate infection.
10 ReplyYes. If it doesn’t go down in the designated timing, please go get it checked out / second opinion from another doctor ASAP. Don’t wait.
Not to scare you (rather to emphasize/inspire yo to get a second opinion if it persists), but in my case it turned out to be cancer. For me it turned out ok, I beat it with chemo and radiation….00 ReplyI have. Yes it can take a long time but if it gets bigger get it checked out it can be a sign of cancer
12 Reply- +1 y
I was at urgent care today. Had blood work and the doc felt it. He said swollen lymph node due to respiratory infection.
+1 yMy sister had that happen, turns out it was a very aggressive cancer
12 Reply- +1 y
Holy shit. How did she get diagnosed with cancer?
- +1 y
The doctor I saw today said it’s swelling from the upper respitory infection which I did have. They ran blood work.
1.5K opinions shared on Health & Fitness topic. I had this when I was a teenager - scared the hell out of me. It went away in about 10 days.

Yes, you just have to wait for the infection to go away.
