He can't get fat
So he wants to start protein and gym
I love premier banana protein. All banana proteins are the best in my opinion. Either buy the premixed or get the mix and mix it with water. He really does need to eat more as well, the protein will fill him up and it’s only 160 calories and low fat. He can’t gain muscle if his body needs it to fuel itself. He’s also burning more calories working out. BCAA’s may be something to take as well. Maybe a preworkout to get hyped up.
My beginning workout plan was this (5 days a week)
Superset means 3 sets of 15, 12, and 8 reps
Triset means 3 sets of 3 workouts. workout one and two you do 12 then the last 8.
Dropset means you do 3 sets which contain 3 sets each so you would put say 50 pounds drop it to 40 then 30 without a break and do that 3 times
Rest in between sets is 1-2 minutes
He will have to do it and determine his weights. For the first week or two go pretty light and eventually work up until you can hardly finish each workout. His wrists will hurt so he may have to do exercises to strengthen those as well if the pain is high. If his arms get too swollen to bend for a bit drop weight, it’s better to go lighter if the swell is prohibiting him from working out the next day.
Try to work in some cardio as well.

Monday : back and shoulders
- wide and close grip pull down (superset)
- overhand row, close grip straight arm pull downs, wide grip straight arm pull downs (triset)
- lawnmowers (dropset)
- Barbell fron shrugs and dumbell front shrugs (super set)

- barbell and bumbell military press (superset)
Tuesday : Ab and leg day
- machine leg raises (3 sets of 30)

- Barbel or machine squat (3 sets of 12)
- leg press and leg extension inbetween (super set)
- Prone leg curl (superset)
- Calf raises and lunges (superset)
Wednesday : chest
- Bench press (5 sets of 5 — HEAVY)

Thursday : Abs and Tris

Good on him, I took my protein after I worked out today. Protein and gym though, it's going to be completely impossible to get fat.

If he wants to gain weight then he needs more calories. Protein alone won't do it. Healthy fats, carbohydrates and proteins will be required. I weigh about the same but am shorter. But I used to weigh less. I train using the T2 isotrainer one day on, one day off. I don't believe gym is sustainable and it's an ongoing cost.

For example I drink 150 grams of ultra fine oats, with flaxseed powder, coconut milk powder, digestive enzymes, undenatured whey protein, green plant protein, glutamite powder, creatine, and camu camu powder.

As the definition of a harder gainer, I'd still rather not eat that crap.
@Levin My health improved after drinking that. No need to have the same amount I did though, easy to use less of everything.
