If he wants to gain weight then he needs more calories. Protein alone won't do it. Healthy fats, carbohydrates and proteins will be required. I weigh about the same but am shorter. But I used to weigh less. I train using the T2 isotrainer one day on, one day off. @Levin My health improved after drinking that. No need to have the same amount I did though, easy to use less of everything.
