Hi, I have Bipolar II disorder as well as PTSD. I have extreme mood swings, but depression and anxiety is usually where I sit. Do you know if anything stressful or depressing has happened lately? Sometimes basic stress can bring us down after the adrenaline rush of trying to fix everything comes down. Did anything happen this time of year that might be triggering you unknowingly? Sometimes we can have trauma or just things we don't want to face again happen, and if it's bad enough, or meaningful enough, every time the part of the year it happened in swings around, we get depressed.
I may have some things that might help in the interum as you figure out what is the cause. One of them is mindfulness. You can find a lot of guided "meditation" on YouTube for mindfulness, but the basic principle is to get perfectly still, control your breathing and think about your situation without judgment. That means you look at it in a sort of 3rd person. You don't feel any strong emotions, everything just is. Your breathing just is, the way you sit just is, and the thoughts running through your mind just are.
Second thing I can suggest is at least getting outside for about 10 - 15 minutes a day. I know it's getting hotter and being outside can suck depending on where you live, but a few minutes outside can break the monotony of being inside for the entire cycle of depression or anxiety. If there is anything you have been putting off doing as well can be helpful during this time if you just get up and force yourself to do it lol. Most people don't like that one, but it can help.
There is also a thing called Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, or CBT, and Dialectical Behavior Therapy, of DBT. These can help you ask important questions about your reason for depression, irritation, anger, anxiety. I get information on those 2 from the Veterans Administration, but I think you can just go online and look them up.
I'm really sorry you are feeling this way. it's extremely hard on a person, that's for sure. It's good you reached out though, even if it isn't that serious. Getting in the habit of seeking help when things go wrong mentally is a good habit to form. Again, I'm extremely sorry you are feeling this way, and I hope it gets better soon. Take care!

Yeah, usually just being sad happens because I think about all the bad things in my life. Try to think about all the positive things in your life. It's really hard to consider positives over negatives because our ape brains are wired to ruminate on everything terrible, but in reality there are plenty of good things to be excited about.
No. I’m very very very often sad but I have so MANY reasons — they are endless I’m never in short supply.., but I understand the feeling. Sorry 😢
There's a;ways a reason to feel sad. Maybe what you're feeling is boredom or something like that.
