+1 yWhat would make you think you are fat? I truly believe a person, girl. boy. young. or old, knows if they are fat or not. But really what is fat? I mean who's to say what is and isn't? T. V? Magazines? Internet? Only we as people can decide if we are beautiful. There's no fat, or skinny, muscular or flabby, everyone is different. If you think you are.. whatever... then that's what you are. Hope this helps or something lol

Anonymous(18-24)+1 yYes and there’s no way around it. Your BMI is 32, which is obese by NHS standards. It might affect your health so I would advise you only lose a few pounds or so for your health. Otherwise it doesn’t matter.

Anonymous(30-35)+1 yYour BMI is 31.9. A healthy BMI is between 18.5 and 24.9. The calculator I used: www.cdc.gov/.../bmi_calculator.html

Opinion Owner+1 yYour goal should be 140 pounds which would put you into the healthy BMI range :)
Opinion Owner+1 yWorking out is more important for building muscle. Portion control and caloric consumption are more important for weight loss.
Opinion Owner+1 yTo lose weight, it's as simple as making sure you consume fewer calories than you expend. Don't trust food labels because the FDA allows for a 20% misrepresentation of calories with no penalties. In addition, while I do not recommend starving yourself (do NOT do this), feeling a bit hungry is ok as you accustom yourself to smaller, healthier portion sizes.
Opinion Owner+1 yAnd happy to help!
Opinion Owner+1 yYeah, it could be a good idea! A nutritionist or dietician might be able to advise an eating plan for you, and regular contact with them may also be the structure you need to keep you on track.

It's simple. Someone could work out & do intense cardio, but if they don't burn more calories than they eat, they'll pack on more weight. So you must burn more calories than you consume. And you do that by mainly eating for the energy you need. It becomes easier when your hormones (like ghrelin & leptin) are more stabilized.
They become that way when you eat foods that don't unnecessarily spike your blood sugar levels. So that will require that you eat, dense, healthy, unprocessed foods with a balanced glycemic load. And you can even do different food combinations to balance out the load. For instance, before I eat a banana, I like to eat eggs because they have a good amount of protein in them. So it won't spike my hormones as high as if I ate the banana first.
I find my deficit & surplus over time with tracking my calories through an app called "myfitnesspal." It's especially good for logging foods with barcodes. Your goal should be to get a general idea of what your caloric deficit would be & to start slowly reducing caloric intake while having the recommended levels of micro & macronutrients.
^ For sustainability, they say not to reduce more than 500 calories in a day. And ideally, slowly drop the weight at around a pace of 2lbs per week. But if you lose weight fast, you'd need to be able to keep it off for a few months to move your bodyweight setpoint to a lower place in a reliable manner.
Eat a looot more protein & drink the recommended amount of water. Protein is satiating & helps compensate for lost nutrients due to the deficit. But make sure it's a good protein source. Ideally a pure one.
And if you don't want to have to cut calories back as much, incorporate more steady-state cardio in your workout routines. 20 minutes per day will get you to the recommended amount of 150 minutes per week. Walking is a good way to start.
And remember, your main goal should be to feel better before it should be to look better.

u +1 yYouare fat and you know it. Your BMI is 31.9, placing you at the 96th percentile for 18-year-old girls. Only 4% of all 18 year old girls are fatter than you. Why are you even asking this question?
