Cold sore or infected cut?

1st off l've never had a cold sore ever in my entire life. Two days ago my mouth look like the 1st picture thinking it was just a cut. Then the redness went away completely yesterday then all of a sudden look at my camera today (2nd photo) and there's little bumps and lots of redness. No pain. I put some cold sore medicine on it just in case but it wasn't itchy no tingling no pain. Nothing. Until now it's a bit itchy after putting the cream on. Can cold sores just pop up with no warning. And now to get it gone faster if it is.

Yeah they can be spontaneous. And they are unfortunately a forever virus. :/ and the way how to prevent them also sucks XD. As they are pretty much linked to stress and like winter weather.

The best you can do is keep the area clean and most importantly DON'T TOUCH IT DIRECTLY... a gross reality is they can spread its best to just try and not irratate it or spread it else where :] and keep using the cream. It can help prevent it from coming to a head and or popping. Which then its both messy and just painful. Best of luck. I get them too. (And don't sweat it too much about 66 to 70% of the world population has cold sores...)

  How to prevent it well it comes down to basically a combination of too much sun light, stress and dry facial skin. All things that get exasperated in the winter.

  It depends mostly on you getting proper rest, hydration and keeping the area UNirratable. And it could be gone as soon as a week or it could get worse, and reach the really ugly blister stage. At all costs just wait for it to clear up entirely as the cold sores... That are the oral kind. can spread anywhere if your not careful and if its not clear already DON'T SHARE TOWELS XD. If either of you got an active sore XD.

Yes, looks like a cold sore, I would put regular cold sore medicine on it.

  I’ve been taking both since I saw it but it’s just getting worse. The redness and itchyness is almost my whole top of my lip and now the centre of my bottom
