Or any other needlework in arms. It's always hard for the staff. They have to pinch many spots. An aniethologist even tried in my wrist and still didn't work 😖😥😭

When you are nervous your veins will hide or shrink. Also, some people have veins that roll. They have ultrasound technology that can find the veins so that they can get a line in you. If that does not work they can put in an IO line also called an interosseous line. They have a special drill that drills through the bone in the shoulder to place a needle in the bone.

It's hard for me because I go pale, start laughing hysterically, and usually pass out. I'm not adverse to pain... I mean I'm the guy that will staple his arms and legs in the office for $5... there is just something about needles near my middle arm or my wrists that makes me start laughing uncontrollably. Just some weird mental thing I have... same for peeing in front of people.

Probably there is a better English word for it, but here in german its called

"Rollveines"

The veines just dodge the needle, or the needle pushes them to the side, making it really hard to puncture it.

Some people’s veins are just a little deeper than others.


The closer a vein is to the skin the easier it is to see and aim for.


If they can’t see it, they have to go on where it should technically be…and that fails a lot. Lol

Very interesting question. Some people have arteries and veins that are difficult to spot. My mother was like that, it often took the nurse two or three times to find her vein.

Same thing too. They said I have small veins. Even after drinking a ton of water it’s a hit or miss and they usually have to use the pediatrician needle. I tried donating blood and I have sometimes reached the max time before stopping, like 15 min and I was only like 1/4 of the way there.. I wish I could donate plasma as they pay you but you need a really big needle for that.

sometimes they have a hard time finding my pluse too when they hold my hand (I guess I’m dead).

Maybe they should use a vein finder? I don’t know the exact name for it but we use that when we have patients that are hard to stick.
