@reddy4it thank you honey 💯🚢
@reddy4it I have a new question
@reddy4it miss you sweetie 💙
I think I was 12
@lovingjo me too
@lovingjo sure, you are very welcome
I was 11 or 12 I believe and in jr high school. I remember being upset and embarrassed about it. I’m an adult now and I never got over it (even til this day. Periods are stupid.
Also, considering the sex education here in the US sucks, I don’t understand how women survive here after having traumatizing period stories since teen-hood (not a word, I know lol. As a matter of fact, I have no idea how we got back to every day life, stress, school, etc after cramps and blood ruining our days. We are definitely warriors though because it’s so normalized in our culture for women to suffer or as it seems to me, for all of us teen girls and women to deal with this on our own until there’s no periods when we’re old. Yay. There’s no break or off days because we have cramps. We still have to go to school, work, deal with it without complaint even when we don’t want to move. It’s like no one cares
Overall though, I truly think this culture of women suffering and dealing with this on our own was set this way on purpose. All the girls who aren’t taught about periods, think of how she’ll lack confidence once her periods starts and how she’ll learn to cope with pain because it isn’t seen as a big deal globally and culturally
I don’t know. I have lots to say about this but I’ll stop venting ( I have my period right now haha
In my country there was a super popular book for girls that basically every girl in my classroom had (including me), it talked about girl stuff, it had beauty recipes also. That's how I started getting prepared for it, sexual ed classes annoyed me but I was comfortable learning on the internet and with that book.
I got my period when I was 12, I woke up one morning before school with my sheets made a mess. I didn't want people to know, I just took the sheets and hid them while I showered and put a pad on. I was SO EMBARRASED later when I went back to my bedroom because my mom was there and she congratulated me for having my period and constantly reminded me to change my pad. I was so annoyed by her, I had already learned everything I needed to know and didn't need her reminding me about my stuff even in front of my dad and little brother, I was so damn mad at her. I won't be like that with my daughter, I'll give her a book, teach her to be open about it with me and her friends and that there's nothing wrong, but I'll respect her privacy and let her do her things because we obviously need our space, especially in the uncomfortable teenage years.
Also, I hated how secretive we all were about our periods at school, it was a whole mystery, and a secret agent thing to go change in the bathroom. Boys were idiots and that didn't help. I don't want my daughter to go through that. Now idc about making noise with a pad in any bathroom, that's a freedom every girl and woman should feel.
I was 12. Staying with my Dad for the summer. Went crying to my dad. He took me to the store and told me I could "get anything I wanted" (as if we were there to clean them out of stock). I told him I didn't want it to be like a diaper. He asked if I wanted "wiiiiings" for "sports and gym class". We were there about 15 mins cry-laughing about the claims, and pictures with him asking how many "cases" (not pack) I needed 🤣 We couldn't decide between the drop indicators on the package or the size.
This lady overheard us and grabbed a pack and handed to my dad, giggling. He put it under his arm proudly and STRUTTED to the cashier happy to pay for my monthly ritual sacrifice supplies.
That man was and always will be my hero ❤️🙏🏼
I was 11 and it happened in school. I went to the washroom and the moment I saw blood stains I was scared! I thought I was going to die due to cancer! Because they usually have internal bleeding during cancer and they vomit and pee blood so I thought I had cancer. I went home and said this to mom with a really really sad face and she laughed and kiss my cheeks and said that I have grown up! She then taught me how to wear a pad and told me that it's a sign that I have grown up. Later my dad bought me a red rose and kissed my forehead and two days after that they had this grand celebration in home where they called my aunts and uncles and cousins to celebrate. They called almost every close relative whom I knew. It was utterly embarrassing but I felt comfortable when I met my elder female cousins. Everyone was like 'She grew up!'
Awwww that's amazing
I was 10 , luckily my mom didn't send me on a trip I was in summer camp , bc she didn't want me to get sick , I was sitting normally and I wasn't aware that my shorts were stained , they were really stained , and my step grandma told my mom , and my mom hurried to take me home but she didn't explain why and I still didn't know that I stained my shorts 💀 she took me to the toilet and there I saw the blood and I was in shock I thought I was dying or I had some kind of sickness (my mom didn't tell me anything about sex or periods) she then explained periods but kept it simple so later on I discovered about sex by myself without her explaining anything and I akse learned about periods more by myself :) and during that there was a guy cousin too but I don't know if hee saw the stained shorts or not
I was 12, playing with my younger cousins, they were 8 and 6 and suddenly I felt a stomachache and I knew it was unlike anything I’ve felt before and I felt scared, confused, horrified, cause I wasn’t ready to become a “woman”, I was hiding it from my family for a year.
I was 9 years old.
I’m very pro sex education in schools because it’s better to know what it is and to know you will expect it to come than to think you are dying 🥰
Were you scared?
I’m so happy for you
I was 13. I was at my mom's friend's house with my Aunt who was visiting from another country. I went to the washroom and HELLO. 👋🏾 I was an oval-shaped blob. It was sticky and deep brown with a bit of red. I felt SO grown.
I don't remember it that clearly. I do remember not telling my mum and she just found out because I was using the pads she left for me in the bathroom. I cried when she asked me about it lol
I think I was 13? 15? And it was on Christmas Day. I yelled for my mom because I thought something really bad happened and that it wasn’t a period lol!
I was 11, in class and was wearing white pants. I never wore white again after that but I went to the nurses station and they called my mom to come get me because I had bad cramping
Yeah I was having chemistry class and we actually watched Jurassic park 1 cause it was a few days before summer break and yeah I got my period, went home as soon as possible and that's about it
I was in 6th grade
Yea i was in 6th grade i believe and i was in the bathroom thinking I had to pee. I looked down and screamed “mooooooom! Its doing that red thing down theeeeere”
a bloody long time ago, but it did worry me, but my parents were there for me, I was 13/14 oldaccording to some of my friends, they were 12 and on was 11 I thnk she told me
I was 9. My friends and sister told me I was “wiping too hard”.
Then I found out later during “the movie”. Thought I peed my pants & went to the nurse.
I was like 12 and my school bestie was like OH MY GOD SHOW ME.
We used to show each other when we got our periods.
I miss her :(
It wasn't that long ago. I already knew what to expect so I just washed, changed, and did what I needed to do.
I was 11, I don’t remember the details other than asking my mom what the brown stuff coming out of me was
I think I was 11, maybe 12. Had just returned from vacation with the family and according to my mum the plane moved things forward. Ruined my summer.
I was 11 and I remember in 6th grade I was sacred of opening pads and tampons because I didn't want others to know I was on my period
Mine was just a few weeks off my eleventh birthday.
Yes, it happened a month before I turned 14.
I was 12. It wasn't a good experience.
I was 11. Eventhough my momma talked to me about it, i was still a little scared when it happened
I was 10 when it happened. I knew it was going to happen at some point but not in 5th grade
I remember very well. I had just turned 12yo.
I was 12 or 13. thankfully it happened at home and not school.
I was 12 i think, it was at school. I forgot how i was feeling lol but my friends were there for me and helped me out.
