What’s the best or most helpful advice you’ve ever been given?

Most of the wisdom that has been transmitted to me has come from novels and films, not from advice or quotes. Watching a character remain stoic in a movie, despite others humiliating it, knowing it is just biding its time, stuff like that is educational. It models smart behavior. Much more impactful than someone telling you to remain calm or something.
Don't seek advice from average people (the masses)
They have historically loss in life.
People say there is no such thing as a free lunch, now I’ve had many free meals, but I’ve had to sacrifice to grow and gain the blessings I have.
Don't keep expections. because only your expectations hurt you anything else
@Sunssong i really find more mental peace while not expecting things from other🙂

Keep everything to your self, dont tell everything to everyone.
That’s awful advice.
hard to say whats best because I value a lot of things, health is my favorite topic, so a lecture regarding health is most valuable to me
Always expect the absolute worst case scenario otherwise you'll be disappointed.
In my opinion, that's horrible advice. Basically what you need to learn is how to control your own mind. A person who thinks like that is someone who lets the outside control them. If you don't know how to control your own mind then yeah that is good advice. You'll never feel like you loss. Same as if you never try you never have to lose.
Best nothing ventured nothing gained
Worst nothing ventured nothing gained
To finish whatever it is that I start
