Okay, here goes the real medical advice. All Ibuprofen sold over the counter is 200mg per pill. There is ABSOLUTELY nothing wrong with taking 600mg of Ibuprofen. The strongest Ibuprofen you can get with a prescription is 800mg of Ibuprofen. Adults and teenagers—1200 milligrams (mg) up to 3200 mg per day divided into three or four equal doses. Now if you are exceeding 3200mgs per day every day you are running the risk of causing gastrointestinal bleeding. Too many on here are confusing it with Tylenol. You will be just fine. Ignore what others have said.38 Reply- +1 y
@MORPHEUS_12 My Nephrologist, had me reduce the amount of Ibuprofen I was taking for rotator cuff injury, due to the rise of Creatinine in my blood over a measured period of time. The large doses of Ibuprofen I was taking caused a lot of stomach burning and required me to drink a lot of water to reduce that. Tylenol did noting to reduce the pain level in the rotator cuff.
I had to increase the amount of Ibuprofen I was taking, and my blood levels of Creatinine returned to 'baseline" - +1 y
Do so if you don't plan on reproducing. Because hard core pain killers cause fucked up offspring defects.
Aspirin is safer. Curcumin and olive oil have similarities to ibuprofen.

+1 yIbuprofen is a common OTC pain reliever that can effectively manage mild to moderate pain. However, it is recommended to carefully follow the dosage instructions as excessive consumption can lead to serious side effects, such as stomach irritation, gastrointestinal issues, drowsiness, headaches, dizziness, and an increased risk of high blood pressure and heart disease. Taking three ibuprofen tablets at a time can lead to a dangerous overdose of 2400 mg per day. So, it's best to avoid taking more than the recommended dose and consult with a doctor if your pain persists or worsens.

I would try to ease up on the amount, and instead of taking so much at one time, try to stay AHEAD of the pain flareup, by staying AHEAD on the ibuprofen by taking a 200 mg capsule BEFORE the pain sets in, unless it is a constant pain, and then you have little choice.
Just know that heavy doses can really bother your stomach and kidneys and I would see an M. D for the injury and maybe a less abrasive pain killer.
Sorry you are in pain, Sweet Pea!

I rarely have a need to take it and wouldn't want to take it often. But when I need it, I take between two and four 200 mg tabs at a time - 800 mg max.
And don't take it on an empty stomach.
I'm wary of Acetaminophen and it doesn't work as well for me.

Ibuprofen and acetaminophen both act like chemicals in our water - fuck the reproductive system.
Confess with your mouth that pain killers make you less resilient, believe only in aspirin and you will be saved.

I'm late to the answer party on this one. It depends on the dose of each tablet. For adults and teenagers the recommended dose isn't more than 400mg per dose for over the counter.
A doctor can prescribe the more potent stuff. And the military people will fondly reminisce that the military medic solution to most things including loss of limb or life was large quantities of ibuprofen.
Not sure how you react to it but another effective pain combo is 1000mg of Tylenol and two naproxen the first time followed by one naproxen 12 hours later.
Sorry about the fall! That sucks.10 Reply
+1 yIf you read on the bottle, it’ll tell you that most adults can handle at most 3 ibuprofen’s at a time. However, if you truly need that amount of ibuprofens continuously, it’s possible that you might’ve broken something. Falling down some stairs may seem like a silly accident but it can cause some serious damage. My cousin broke his leg by falling down stairs and then broke it even more by putting it back in place himself.

+1 yThe recommended dosage, depending on what strength the ibuprofen is, is 1 or 2 at a time. Taking 3 at one time for pain may not be a problem, but it shouldn't be the norm.
Ibuprofen can thin the blood, and too much of it can lead to internal bleeding, especially if it's taken with other medications.

+1 yI would think it's okay, just read the directions I do know medications like Ibuprofen can be hard on your stomach, I take a medication similar to it called Naproxen Sodium and the pharmacy says take with food or milk to coat the stomach. It's written right on the bottle. LMBO!!!

+1 yIt's probably not a big deal to occasionally take that many, for a young, otherwise healthy girl. You did take too many though, so you shouldn't make that a habit. Realistically, you've just ever-so-slightly stressed your liver a little more than normal.
Trust me, if you were in a health situation where your liver function was bad enough that taking 3 ibuprofen once would do real damage; you wouldn't have any doubts and you probably wouldn't be talking with us about it.

Anonymous(36-45)+1 ynobody knows how to spell that stuff. 🤣 and that's perfectly fine, unless it's the high strength prescription ones. But you might need a doctor if the pain doesn't go away after a few days. Possible broken bones/fractures, or torn ligaments and all that good stuff are a possibility at that point.
10 Reply871 opinions shared on Health & Fitness topic. It’s not that big a deal. If the pain coninutes might see a doctor. I heard aspirin might not be great in large dosages. I think ot literally has poison in it. Made by Bayer who made the Zyklon for the holocaust gas chambers.
But we take ibuprofen all the time. I’m a big guy and take 3-4 for a headache. No probs.00 Reply- 333 opinions shared on Health & Fitness topic.
+1 yI’m not sure. Sorry. I think that’s too many though. A girl in my school took a bunch of Tylenol and her stomach started bleeding internally.
