Here's an interesting question that most people don't consciously think of.
When you first start walking from a standing position, which foot moves first... most of the time? How do you take that first step?

In 1969-1971, I was in my high school marching band and I was a section leader, meaning that I needed to set the standard for the people in my section. Because I was a percussionist, the rhythm of marching came quite naturally to me, and in marching, we ALWAYS started with the left foot. It is something that I usually do without thinking. However, when I come to a stairway, I sometimes become conscious and make sure that my first step on the stairs is with my left foot. It is a little bit OCD, but rather minor and harmless; I doubt that anyone around me is aware of that habit.
Thanks for MHO!
I usually lead with my right foot, unless there’s some reason i can’t or shouldn’t. I also tend to move to the right to avoid obstacles. I remember having to learn to alternate right and left when traveling through wooded areas where i had little to no knowledge of the terrain. I was taught that you’ll walk yourself in a large circle if you can’t get a fix on a distant object and always move one way or the other to avoid obstacles.
My left foot on uneven ground but otherwise my right. I know this because when I'm wading and I can't see my feet I feel with my left while keeping my stronger right foot rooted. You become very self aware of what your feet are doing when you're not walking as you usually do.
depends... when I walk - the left one, when I climb stairs - the right one

I'm weird in this respect because I am left footed predominantly and right handed, although I am considered ambidextrous!
I lead with my left foot!
Also, when I get on a bike, I have to get on with my left side.. I just can't get on from the right!
Left. Always left. It’s kinda been a thing for me every time I leave a room, my left foot goes out the door way first.
My left foot, which is the non dominant one. Why I wouldn't know, because that foot is damaged, so it's not by choice 😅
I was going to take a video but it has to be a YouTube link unfortunately it's right foot.
I have had a hip replacement done on my left leg so when i go up stairs I start with that one.
Bad hip and knee on left side so right is always going to go first for me
Technically I have to move my left foot first, as I no longer have a right foot...
Military Basic Training got me in the habit of stepping forward with my left foot
Right foot. I wonder what this means since I am very ambidextrous.
I’m left foot first. Which is a bit strange because I’m right handed. Who knows? 🤔
the right one...
Left. I had to check.
My right one
