Do you have any fears or phobias and how do you manage them?

Ok don't laugh. I have a phobia of closed dark spaces like a garden shed or attic. Not so much cos of the space. But the bugs and spiders hiding therein.

Once as a kid I went down to the shed and opened the door. In the whole frame of the door were thousands of earwigs (now extinct I've read?) And they all dropped like a waterfall of bugs. Horrid! That's where my fear comes from.

I can put my head in a shed, reach in but no wayyy I'm gonna walk inside one.

I'm not too bad about spiders or bugs as such. I am scared of quantity. So a mass of spiders or bugs. One is fine because you can keep an eye on it.

Heights, I avoid them and if I can't I don't look down.

The Sea, I stay on land.

Narrow spaces, I avoid them.

Spiders, I summon white knight Sir Boyfriend to defeat the beast for me. And if he's not here... I sit down and prepare myself for several minutes while figuring out a plan to catch it and be faster than the spider. These solo hunts have lasted from a minute to half an hour. I prefer Sir Boyfriend.

arachnophobia, but I decided to try therapy, and tbh, it helped a lot...

I can't stop adrenaline and cortisol kicking, as it's a phobia - something out of my consciousness... but I can stop myself from screaming; I can touch the spider with tools... so if Drama Queen spots one in her room or bathroom, I can move it outside with the help of a glass and sheet of paper...

but after doing it I feel as if I ran the marathon :D

Spiders… arachnophobia. I handle it by screaming and getting TF away from a spider if I see one 😂. There’s only two types of spiders that I’m not afraid of, but every other type - dangerous or not - is a big NOPE!

ik that's obvious answer, but it's true. like i look for ways to get around it and not have to deal with it. if i do then i just tough it out lol
