Why does my body ache after a 12 hour work night?

Muscles can ache for many reasons. I think the most common one is because of inflammation in the muscle. For instance, today I worked out very hard. Did multiple sets to muscle failure. If I want to be really sore tomorrow, I'd do low carb, not get enough protein, stay away from anti-inflammatory foods, get poor sleep, stress myself out more, be sure to eat inflammatory foods, wouldn't drink enough water, do more extreme workouts on the same muscles I trained to failure, etc.

It all depends on your work load and your internal clock. Your more tired at night which makes your body react differently to what you do.
