Sure way to kick up a dragging metabolism?

Never had major issues. Sure I gain weight, but it's never very significant and it tends to fluctuate up and down anyway.

Over the past year, I have gained a substantial amount and I've decided enough is enough. I've been cutting out the junk from my diet and exercising more but I really haven't been seeing much results. Granted it's only been about 3 weeks, but it's hard to keep myself motivated when the results aren't that encouraging.

I've been cutting out the processed carbs and adding more fruits and vegs into my diet. Drinking more. Checking my portions. I work out about 4 times a week (mix of cardio and light weights).

I feel like my metabolism is at a standstill. Any tips?
