Are you neurodivergent in any way?

I have been diagnosed as ADHD ever since I was 3 years old, however over the last little bit I’ve been curious maybe if I’m on the spectrum somewhat? I have had people ask me if I’m autistic.

I've come to conclusion there is no normal so technically we are all somewhere on this spectrum. Everyone I know seems to have autism, ADHD, social anxiety, OCD or some other quirk. Did this not exist back in 1950's etc? Of course it did. But no label and people had to adapt to survive or find a career/niche where their quirks and creativity was a benefit. My mum is a good example of this. She is potentially autistic and was dyslexic. Advanced school well ahead of her peers but had issues with how she learned. Such as being more visual for learning maths. So demonstrations worked better than just theory. She fought hard to get ahead in life.

My daughter? 18. Social anxiety and autism. Her attitude? "I have this so I can't do anything and you have to adapt to me because I can't help it". So she hasn't left her room in months. Because everyone runs around to accommodate her "special" needs. Including teachers and her uni. They've set a solo room up jis6 for her to try encourage her to come in to uni. But nope. She's seriously unable to cope or survive by herself. It's frustrating me because I never thought of her as autistic or anything growing up. She had quirks but that's all they were and just accepted as part of her character. Now she uses this label as a shield against growing or adapting to life.

Well neurodivergent is an umbrella term that covers many conditions, more than just autism or ADHD, so yes technically I am neurodivergent as I have BPD.

Never went about getting diagnosed, but there’s a close to zero chance I’m not ADHD as fuck, lmao. I’m just cool with it and with the results, don’t care if it’s good enough for anyone else, and I’m not taking some pill to change something about me that’s not broken, just different. Fuck the rest of the world, they can adapt to me or kick rocks, haha

Yep. A family friend told my mum and dad that I was autistic at 2 years old. Then I was officially diagnosed by a doctor when I was about 8.

I didn’t know you can diagnose so early. Guess things have changed. I got diagnosed with adhd in 4th grade.
