Why are men allowed to be thin but not women?

Yea women have babies and pregnant but come on! Some comment said women aren’t supposed to be thin and it’s bad for our cycles. They said women look way better thick. Why do you think thin women are trying to put on weight? Not every thin girl or woman likes being thin. We’ll I HATE being thick! We’ll I’m fat. I’m 6’0” and 229lbs. I’m curvy but chubby but my thin girl pals said it’s enter than having stick legs and looking crawny. I kill to be thin but my body is too big. Large built and 6’0”. My family doesn’t want me to lose anymore weight and thrilled that I stopped losing weight and gained it back.

I went from 238 to 179lbs. Even 179 people said I looked sick. Women are allowed to look however they want. Thin women can get pregnant too. Don’t tell us women want to do!

I think it's weird how society's views on women go back and forth, swinging wildly from one extreme to the other.

Twenty-ish years ago, women were expected to be thin, because that was what was considered attractive at the time. I remember when Alicia Silverstone got absolutely ridiculed for being "too fat" to play Batgirl, when she only weighed about 125-130 lbs at the time.

Now, though, it's all about "thick" women, because that's supposedly what is attractive these days, and people criticize women for being too skinny. It's absurd what women are expected to do in pursuit of beauty, especially when it changes so frequently.

Granted, being too far in either direction isn't healthy, regardless of whatever society views as attractive at any given moment. Women are totally free to look however they prefer, but being too skinny, or too large, can carry associated health risks.

Actually, your region and your socioeconomic level plays a huge role in what is considered attractive, and thus which image women are pressured to be.

If you don't move around between different areas and socioeconomic levels, it would be easy to think that everything was one way, while someone else near you but in a different strata thinks it's the opposite.

There are healthy weight ranges. All you have to do is have your BMI checked out and your muscle to fat ratio checked out as well by being weighed underwater.

Some women are heavier because they have more muscle mass per weight. So their BMI might look like they're overweight, but they are overmuscled and heavier than average.

Don't listen to family. Listen to your doctor and examine weight ranges for your height and your muscle mass. The issue with your family is they like you too fat because all of them are too.

Find a healthy weight for you. One chart states that 179 at 6 feet height is a normal weight for a male or female. I had a boyfriend who was 6'1" and 180. He was lean, and muscular but not thin at all.

223 is listed as obese. But again, you need to be weighed underwater to find out your muscle to fat ratio. Talk to your primary care doc and see if you can get these services to calm your mind about what you should or should not weigh.

And remember it's YOU who should be satisfied and your doctor. Not your family.

Men can do as they please they just won't get laid if theyre losers, broke, ugly, under 6 ft. Women care about looking their best to attract the best, she can't afford to be fat or frail, theyre far more social and sexual beings than guys. Remember only 20 - 10% of all men have all the women chasing them, the rest of us are asexual ugly creeps and a slim amount squeak by in life with 1 or 2 mates.
