Is rapid weight loss or weight loss attempt dangerous?

Yesterday I took 4 times the normal weight loss supplement dosage I usually take and I had severe dehydration after that was so bad, it put my health in danger.

A fitness instructor told me on his last day of work, that your liver needs water to burn fat and what I have concluded is that the more aggressive and fast your body tries to burn fat, the more hydration your liver will need to burn off the fat you are trying to burn off. I am lucky I was at home when I came up with this deep thirst, because if I had been out at a public park, I might have had to walk 12 minute to find a source of water.
