We recently got solar panels and they work great but I want to run the tumble dryer at 2am. Is reasonable?

My wife is used to doing the laundry her way.

Run the washing machine and run the tumble dryer, one after the other.

Now with solar panels and we're on smart rate
Means it costs 9 cent per unit at 2 am.
But 33 cent per unit during the day.

My only request is that we run the tumble dryer at night.

I can see this becoming an issue because she has to change her ways.

Everything else, washing machine, dishwasher can run any time.

But tumble dryer is big use of electricity.
Am I reasonable?

I had a similar argument with mine. I decided I was tired if us both arguing over being spoiled by a dryer. Now we go outside and hang dry the cloths AS A FAMILY. No one argues and id like to say we have a good time doing it together because we spend time as a family talking and appreciating what we do have. Instead of thinking about how to save money. What do you work for? I work to be able to provide for my family... funny thing that keeps you from your family... those solar panels could keep you from working instead it's the cause to argue over power to wash your cloths to work to pay for power. Break your own cycle. Baby steps go a long way. I tried making laundry for the family instead of why we were fighting

I find I'm the one running the tumble dryer
Hanging the clothes on the line
Bringing them in
Where I live it's very showery
I hang the clothes out to dry
An hour later I bring them in
That's if I'm lucky

But I agree it's not worth fighting over

Everyone in my family hated hanging stuff on the line at first also. It grew on us and we still don't like it sometimes but the point is what did push us apart now brings us together. You know your family... its just about finding that thing that brings you together. Also I think it's completely reasonable you only run the dryer at night, only she might not see that. if so you have to do the laundry at night yourself, so you can see it her way before you make her change... unfortunately I've been told that's the "right" thing to do... I apologize for what's right lol I really do.
