Somebody posted a question about Anti-natalism. It made me think of this question
953 opinions shared on Health & Fitness topic. At different times in my life I wished I had never been born. It's easy to feel like that during one hardship after another for years.
But since I stopped working and I am okay living by myself, I feel like I was meant to be born.
Like God gave me my reason to live and I am in his plan now.
So, in the end after I passed all those years of having to endure a life that was never easy, I see now that I had to go through those years to get to the place I am today. Peaceful and spiritual and caring.55 Reply- 1 mo

1 moYes. Life would have been so much harder if I had never been born.

1 moHonestly no. one of my biggest problems is the rest of the world has always made me feel different and hate myself... I hated me for a very long time. One day someone asked me why I was so hard on myself all the time and before I could answer they told me I am one of the brightest most compassionate all around best people they know. They said if the rest of the world was more Like me it would be a much better place. That was such a joke to me because I hated me... I realized I dont need to be glad I was born it didn't matter if I was glad or not what does matter is I am here.
Also, im here in the very best way I know how to be every single day! I don't know when things changed I still dont like me when i think of my past and who i am. but im glad I am here because people sure think I do it "right"23 Reply- 1 mo
@aaron13547 Did you know that self-hatred is usually caused by childhood trauma?

"I still dont like me when i think of my past and who i am"
But your past is not who you are. All that ever matters is who we are today. And I like you. 😊 - 1 mo
Lol yes and thank you. Not liking who I am is what also makes me great. It paradoxically is why I like myself. We got the chicken and the eggs going on again. You can't have one without the other. The same things that make me not like me also make me like me. 😉
1 moYes. Even with its tears and heartaches and oh, so many things that I do not understand it is still such a big, beautiful, wonderful world with so many delightful wonders to behold when I only open my eyes.
I feel very blessed to be here and I give thanks for my life here everyday even when I am whining and complaining about winter. And it's friggen' snowing now. 😭

1 moYes, I am.
Not because life is perfect, but because every high, low, and quiet moment shaped me into someone I actually respect.
Some days are heavy, some are beautiful, but I’m grateful I get to experience all of it grow, learn, love, mess up, restart.
Being alive isn’t about constant happiness.
It’s about having the chance to build a life that feels like yours.
So yeah… I’m glad I’m here.30 Reply- 1.3K opinions shared on Health & Fitness topic.
u 1 moI am having fun with my life and I don't regret being here. However, Like @sage2021, there were times earlier in my life when I experienced depression and didn't care about whether I lived or died. Thankfully, I got through those experiences and became a stronger person as a result.
10 Reply Funny thing the other day my partner was talking about time travelling and i was joking saying i’d appreciate it if she could go back to 23 years ago and stop my parents from fucking each other. Cuz i’m sick of existing. Abuse and traumas brought me so many physical and mental health problems, and im sick of pills. Anti depressants? Sure. But 6 other types of meds for physical health? Kill me.

1 moI am very glad I was born! I think that the idea of anti-natalism is incredibly self-indulgent.
Even if we dive headfirst into the idea that the world, life, and people suck; you still have an opportunity to make things better. Living with gratitude is the strongest antidote to pessimism that I’ve ever found. Gratitude is a muscle that you have to workout10 Reply475 opinions shared on Health & Fitness topic. Yes, I am.. but there was a time in my life when I kept wondering what am I even doing here and wished I was never born. Had these thoughts more than few times when I was depressed. Glad that chapter is over. I wouldn't have known what's love like, friendship is like if I wasn't born. I would have missed out on so many good things. I also think I matter to some of my loved ones. So, yeah, I'm glad I still alive.

1 moNot really.. I ain't so depressed or wanting to die anymore but I'm bored and don't really see a point to being here. My kids are at the top of their class and they are well mannered and good but it feels like they don't really need me anymore either..
I kind of hate how there is always a pressure on you to live from parents, family and friends even tho living serves no purpose to you..11 Reply- 1 mo
This is where I am, bored and I don’t see the point in being here.
1 moI have good days and bad, but i don’t really think about life in terms of existentialism. I do have a history of suicidal ideation, so it’s best to not dwell on the bad stuff so long that i start thinking it’s better to not be here at all. Ell oh ell!
00 ReplyAs opposed to what?
This isn’t even a matter of either or
We’re born therefore we’re hear
Anyone who wasn’t born isn’t even an entity to be considered
Do I love my life? No not really.
Maybe sometimes I wanted it to end as well
But I never regretted it happening in the first place00 ReplyIf we hadn't been born, no-one would be able to answer your question. No-one asked us, it just happened, so this whole anti-natalism seems like a pointless issue anyway.

1 moYes, of course I'm glad I was born. If I wasn't born, I wouldn't have experienced the many things in this world, including interacting with the interesting people here on GaG.

Anonymous(45 Plus)1 moDoesn't matter if i'm ok with it. I was born. Which means God thinks I should be here. And as long as I'm here I'm going to try to do his will. You just asked this at a time where I'm going through some stuff. Any other time I would say I'm grateful for God's gift of life.

@exitseven same feeling too,,, I did get hit in the chest by a car on the freeway though and survived another near death experience... 4 total. But now I know I need to be here for my elderly mom who has loved me always and will be the only real authentic love we might have.

@CherryLove007 I get it. However life is a gift. i understand it now. Life does not always go the way we would like and sometimes it feel like a burden but it really is worth it.
I found this site by accident and I found that it really makes me look at my life and even though it had ups and downs it really has been amazing.
