Most people are terrible at actually processing it, instead of taking the time to let their subconscious speak they'd rather burry their heads in the sand until its to much.
That's what friends and family is for... to recognize and to help them.
Because we had generations of people who bottled trauma up rather than talking it through and dealing with it
Thank you for your reply and I agree. That doesn't explain the younger generations though. They are more open with their feelings and trauma than the Gen X and prior.
It takes a long time to break the cycle
Not a long time if you go to therapy. We have so much information about mental health and help with it in today's culture that there's zero excuse not to know that you have an issue and to go seek help. It's not like you don't understand what manipulation or avoidant attachment is...
Breaking the cycle isn't about one person
Because it's hard to get help and people get judged when they do
