For me, it was and still is Diabetic Nerve Pain.
It started in the crown of my head and face in 2002 and then moved into my upper arms around 2006 through 2009. At this time, the pain was so bad I had to bite my pillow at night to keep from crying and screaming in pain. I still didn't know what was causing it and neither did doctors. By 2012 I was diagnosed with "Neuropathy" but still unknown cause. It wasn't until around 2016 that they diagnosed me as Type 2 diabetic, and by then the pain was so bad that 3000mg of Neurontin did not stop it. I felt like I cried non-stop every day from the pain even as I tried to keep a full-time job. One day, the pain was so bad all I could do was pray for help, because i KNEW the doctors couldn't help. For some reason, around 2016 the pain did start to go away, but I'm still on 900mg Neurontin per day for pain to this day.
My left hand is numb now, which effects my typing speed, as I probably only type 30 wpm now.
Most people rate Kidney Stones pretty high on their pain scale, but I've had a kidney stone before too, and that was bad, but nowhere near as bad as Nerve Pain.
I'm never going to be the same again. Even the memory of the stabbing and burning pain is awful. It drove me crazy, and I think that's a real fact of the matter.

I've been shot, stabbed 3 times, broke both arms at the same time, ribs broken at least 5 times, broken collar bone, nose broken 3 times, torn ligaments in left ankle, bruised from knee to shoulder, broken tailbone, broken fingers, and in one incident (all the right side)... broken shoulder, torn pectoral muscle, broken ribs, and torn latissimus dorsai. Also went through a truck windshield with cuts to my face and ears but no other injuries. I was up and moving as soon as I hit the ground.
None of it was actually that bad. Pain sure. But only for 3-6 weeks.
Years ago I had a pinched nerve in my back and it was my birthday. I can barely get into the car and then I took a little nap when I got to the hotel on my vacation. I could hardly get out of bed, but I had to tough it out to go to the birthday dinner. My back was that bad sitting in pain, nonstop, especially when I moved around it was so tough that the next day we relaxed at the hotel then I just called the trip in our live vacation no sense of wasting a lot of money when I’m just gonna sit there by the pool. You can only do that for so long and that was enough. I didn’t have any medication or muscle relaxers or nothing. It took a week to get better, but the pain wasn’t as bad later in the week
But actually, the birthday dinner wasn’t too bad because I got sidetracked thinking about something else besides the pain
A wasp sting had me crying like a baby, little bro put his whole soul into that strike.

Some momentary pain from having a tooth drilled without enough anesthesia. The dentist, thank God, added some anesthesia to what I already had, and that solved the problem.
Broke my toe, fractured my metatarsals and sprained my ankle all in one hit
