There are two very broad genres of exercise- cardio and muscle development. Doing some cardio each day is great. Muscle work each day is another story. Your muscles actually grow on their days of rest. This gives the muscle cells time to rebuild themselves. When you exercise against resistance- weights, bands, gravity, isometric resistance, whatever- you are actually causing some muscles cells to pull and break. It is the resting phase wherein the cells repair themselves more strongly- when the muscles actually get stronger. If there is no rest for the muscles that have been pushed to their limit (plus a little extra), there will be little/no muscle improvement.

A good regime is alternating days of muscle work and cardio. Perhaps Monday is upper body, Tuesday is walking, Wednesday is core work on the body, Thursday is swimming (a form of cardio), Friday is leg work, and Saturday is walking the dog. Sunday is your day of rest. If you feel that you need more rest (on this same calendar plan), just rest another day on Thursday, and make Saturday a bit more peppy.

If you know what you are doing absolutely it is , you isolate the area you are working on..

Plus you need a Cardio mix

It's certainly safe , but learn what you are doing and keep your steps up at same time.

For periods of time, sure. But all year, every single day? I don’t think so. Your muscles need some time to recover and relax for the effects of exercise to pay off anyway.

Better than laying every day in front of the day for sure.

Depends on the type of working out.

Any intensive strength training, will create soreness and a sense of depletion. I need at least 3 days off full rest with 4x a week intensive training. Otherwise you've not recovered. Your goal of your next session should be to improve on your last. And recovery is half of training. You should take it very seriously.

4 days per week has been the most effective in my experience. M, T, TH, F. Don't work out the exact same muscle in consecutive days. If you do it too often, not only are you doing more work for LESS results, but you are more likely to get mentally burned out, get bored, and stop altogether eventually.

You can walk, jog, or run everyday, swim everyday, lift light weights everyday, etc. things that don’t make you sore the next day or two. I would not advise running or jogging far everyday, that beats up your joints pretty bad. Some people’s knees and hips go to shit after that and some don’t, and that’s all up to genetics. When doing strenuous things that make you sore, you should wait till you’re not sore. You need a recovery period.

There was a big dude in my karate and kung fu class when I was a teenager who was my dad’s age. He used to bench press 315 pounds 20 times every morning. Ground his shoulders to shit. He was still strong as hell but said he would not attempt to bench press over 80 pounds anymore because of the pain and extensive damage to his shoulders. Just because you can didn’t mean you should when it comes to pushing your body to the limit.

Hell I think those folks who do - you ever notice "athletes" or "gym goers" seem to get hurt more easily from multiple multiple small hurts eventually lead to

Exercising every day isn't right; our bodies need rest sometimes. I used to train back-to-back, but when I started experiencing pain, I decided to stop.

If your split is correct and allows each muscle group at least 2 days to recover, yes.

Your muscles need time to rest and rebuild. I do a split routine and do not work the same body part two days in a row.

As long as you eat right, know your limits and have light days for recovery, absolutely.

Yes as long as you don’t over push yourself and end up with an injury like I did

I believe so. I usually workout 5-6 days a week however. A day or two off seems to give me time to chill and recover

No, you actually need rest days so your muscles can recover and rebuild the fibers.

If a workout means cardio, sure, but overexerting your muscles with weight lifting is unhealthy, and you need a rest.
