I have been experiencing chronic chest pain for a long time, and it has been a persistent concern for me. The pain is mainly located on the left side of my chest, extending toward the area between my left shoulder blade and back. It does not seem to have one clear or consistent trigger, and I have not noticed that pressing on the painful area reproduces the same pain. Because of its location and persistence, I am concerned about whether it could be related to my heart or another underlying condition.
Medical History and Specialists I Have Seen
I have sought medical attention for this problem and have also visited a psychiatrist. I took Duloxx (duloxetine) for approximately two months as part of psychiatric treatment. However, I am still concerned about the underlying cause of my chest pain. I do not want to assume that the pain is psychological without adequately investigating possible physical causes.
What Has Not Been Evaluated or Confirmed
I am not certain which medical specialties I should consult next or whether all the necessary investigations have been completed. I cannot confidently say which potential causes have been fully ruled out. In particular, I would like to understand whether further evaluation by a cardiologist, pulmonologist, gastroenterologist, neurologist, or another specialist might be appropriate. I do not want to claim that I have never visited these departments unless I can verify my medical history.
Questions for the Community
Given the long-lasting nature of my chest pain, its location on the left side of my chest and toward my back, the absence of a clear trigger, and the fact that pressing on the area does not reproduce the pain, what possible causes should be considered? Which medical specialties and diagnostic tests would be appropriate in this situation? Has anyone experienced similar symptoms and eventually discovered the underlying cause?
Got 2 dose of covid vaccines: biontech. by the way.

When doctor's can't come up with a diagnosis they say that it's all in your head. Why else would a patient with chest pain end up going to a psychiatrist? The doctors need to see the psychiatrist!!
You on the other hand need to find a excellent and experienced cardiologist to get you all of the appropriate cardiac tests performed!!
I have costcondritist and it's painful on my right side ribs all the way to the middle of my chest (sternum). Very painful, comes and goes.
Since I am not a medical professional I can only tell you to see an excellent cardiologist for accurate testing.
Good luck! 🤞🏼
If the pain radiates and spreads outward, it could be indicative of heart issues. If it's more of a straight-line downward, odds are more of GI issue such as GERD.
In any event, please see your doctor.
In my limited opinion, you need your doctor to rule out any basic heart issues.
If that has already been done, perhaps it is costochondritis? I used to get that. Very sharp pain in the rib area. I thought I was having some kind of heart attack. All the medical tests came back fine.
I used to get it quite debilitatingly for the first 30 years of my life. Now I don't get it. Or if I do, it is incredibly fleeting.
How did I cure it? Well, like I say, rule out any basic heart issues with your doctor. Then I just used meditation to integrate any pain that I have in my body. A lot of pain can be deep seated and perhaps may even go back to previous lifetimes. Meditation can help with that. Looking at the thoughts surrounding it and your wider assumptions in life can't hurt, also.
Although I'm not sure you did yourself any favours getting those vaccines... if the pain started before them then they're probably not relevant.
Try pulling that knife out of your left shoulder.
Seriously, this is a question for your primary care doctor and maybe a referral to a cardiac specialist to rule out heart issues. Could be muscle or nerve damage from exercise or sports. Shoulder injury that didn't heal properly.
I had the same issue. It turned out to be high blood pressure.
Feels like someone stabs my chest and left back 24/7
No one here is a doctor
Really?
Figure out what's causing the pain and stop it
