Do you ever get random spasms in your legs?

I get these all the time and I don't know why. What is this? I'll be in class when all of a sudden my leg will jerk...usually I can feel it about to happen three to five seconds before. Do you get this too?

To move, your body activate neurotransmitters: causing muscle fibers to "twitch" causing it to go from no contraction, peak contraction, then relax.

To have a voluntary movement, you need coordinated muscle peak twitches all at once causing your body part (arm, leg, whatever) to move.

However, if they don't activate all at once, the twitches power kinda goes in a roller coaster style power- Up, down, up, down. Those ups are those random spasms. As you probably know- you can't have voluntary movement with this, as it's uncoordinated and just twitching at different times.

But you can feel it, see it, and also have the capability to go: wtf, cool, ew.

That didn't answer your question at all- but if you're wondering what's happening inside you when that starts to happen, it's that ;)

To answer your question, if I flex my wrist really far I (sometimes) cause my pinky to twitch a lot :P

They are usually up? As in my legs flys up, hmm okay well thank you that does help some :)

My wife accuses me of kicking her at night sometimes.

I don't know how to get rid of it. At one time I feared it was mini seizures but I haven't had such a diagnosis. Must be something else.

If I did kick her I have no recollection of it. It wouldn't have been deliberate. So I can't say I did or I didn't. I guess it's possible but it wasn't on purpose IF it happened at all.

yes probly because your body is growing I know they hurt but the best way to get rid of them is to stand up it will hurt but it makes it go away in a fer segonds try it it really works but you have to just do it even if it hurts

I'm pretty sure it's because the muscles in your legs have been inactive for a while (a few hours if you're sitting in class). A good walk should help it, but I'm no doctor, so don't take my word for it.

Yep usually I get them when I' m tierd or hungry try to relax or have a snack

it could be an injury to themuscle, or more likely a dietary imbalance, not enough salt intake with exercise or something like that. Or overuse of the legs in sports.
