How to lose weight?

But I am a 17 year old female in her junior year of high school and I weigh 220lbs. Iv come to the conclusion that I DO NOT want to be a 2x-3x in my high school grad gown. My goal is to be at least 150ish I know its probably not possible but I want to lose this weight it brings me down as a person. I just don't know how to go about losing weight. Ex: what exercises to do, when to do it, how long to do it. I want to do this the healthy way and I don't have money to pay for special food/equipment/work out program. I just need help getting started?
