I am trying to lose weight and am 5'11 205, I was 350.
However, I work weekend nights from 10pm to 10am since I go to school. So weekends I'm pretty tired. I have drank Monster/ Red Bull before but I don't want to gain weight. Will I?
Well.. I think for me all this stuff goes in-reverse.
I never get fat no matter what I eat, and I can eat what I want and how much I want.
And caffeine doesn't boost my energy - it makes me all sleepy and tired.. like a sedative.
Still I stay away from energy drinks for 2 reasons I've noticed and I'm sure about them:
-They trigger anxiety
-They cause long-time fatigue
So.. for me it's totally no reason at all to drink them, unless I would want to become weaker.
Even for those who actually receive boost from them at the beginning, they also face crash and burnout later.
And I don't think that risk of getting fat should be your Nr1 problem about energy drinks either.
I'm not a fan of energy drinks because I've been sick drinking them with huge amount of vodka on to many occasions. Also as previously mentioned there full of sugar E number and other crap. Maybe try drinking coffee if your needing a caffeine fix it will have the same affect and is a lot better for you, it's actually proven that coffee in moderation is good for your health it has some anti- oxidant in it.
If you're trying to lose weight, yes definitely. They're loaded with sugar and have a high calorie intake for only one serving which a lot of times can just be half a can. If you're dieting then that's definitely not something you want. Personally I'm against energy drinks all together even if the person is active. I've just never thought of them as being good for anyone's diet. I suggest you try natural things. I take multivitamins plus other supplements for energy. My green tea supplements give me so much energy. Also fruits and veggies can help too. Drink tea with 0 cal sweetener if you need more of a boost.
I don't think Monsters and red bulls are healthy. They have lots of caffeine and sugar. Sugar being the primary problem with weight gain.
Though its better not to drink them at all
They do come in diet versions that will not cause weight gain
I think its healthier to drink a cup off coffee with skim milk and truvia.

Do you really need all that extra energy? If you do then they aren't so bad if you are very physically active... but not exactly healthy. They are filled with high levels of caffine which can cause a range of problems and actually cause you're kidneys to remove extra fluid from your body, if sweating this can be especially dangerous. Energy drinks will do more bad for you then good and isn't helping you lose weight
Monster and red bull are some of the worst drinks you can have. There are substances in Monster that can lead to heart and brain diseases. Not only for your weight loss, but also for your health, DON'T drink Monster or Red Bull!! They also increase obesity rates.
Yes. I've always heard that they are terrible for you. Actually, anything that increases your heart rate is not GOOD for you. That includes (but is not limited to) Adderall, weed, and coffee...although coffee is coffee. Although I know a nurse who refuses to drink it.
A quick question, if you have a can of the stuff, tell me the calories on the side of the can. Then tell me the servings per can.
Besides that: yes, energy drinks ARE bad for your health, in more then one way.

Simple as that. I try to explain to my mom frequently, but she doesn't listen to me.
You won't gain weight directly from them, but the lack of any nutrients in them will leave you famished, and the caffeine also increases your appetitie, so...
Yes they have lots of sugar, also Amway sells energy drinks that are sugar free and have all of their energy from B vitamins look them up and buy
Yes they are. Anything that high in sugar is diabetes in a can.
No you won't gain weight but with energy drinks you have to follow the daily intake as they're basically heart attack drinks. Remember everything in moderation and you can't go wrong.
I drink sugar free mother and other energy drinks with very little kilojoules, if you drink the full sugar ones you will definitely struggle to lose weight as they are VERY high in kilojoules/calories.
I know nobody wants to count calories but you HAVE to do it to lose weight sadly. Remember diet is 80% excercise is 20% (on losing weight).. A very common tip is don't drink your calories so go for ones with 0 cals. As for health, of course, but as long as they have no calories your weight will be good.
Yes they have tok much sugar, can make you gain weight, and makes your heart race amongst more issues
Why would you gain weight? Get diet lol. 0 Calories.
never sipped one and not planning to when there are lot of healthy stuff out there
Yes! Continuous use is so so bad for you. It can kill you if you overdo it
Yes they are. The extreme caffeine is terrible for your body. Water is the best for hydration and waking up.
You will, those have tons of sugars in them and caffeine will bloat you like mad. Water is the only good way to go—boring but it does the best and being hydrated is one of the best things you can do for weightloss
Yes, they can kill you, I mean seriously have you ever even seen a documentary. It only takes 2 to kill a full grown football player.
Yes because they break down your organs and speed up ur heart beat
Just drink milk and water and you'll be fine.
