Ladies: Do you find skinny guys unattractive?

Question

Something I'm curious over. Myself, I'm 18, 5'9" and 130lbs. Pretty skinny. I'm not like bony skinny or anything, but I've always been skinny.

I do exercise, I run 4 miles ever day. That might be why I'm not gaining any weight. Any extra food I eat, I end up burning off. But my upper body is pretty thin. Somebody told me that I should lift weights. Maybe, but the thing is, I absolutely hate lifting weights or doing push-ups or sit-ups. I know many people like it, but I don't. I'd much rather run and don't need to be muscular to feel good about myself ;)

I guess it would be more accurate to say I'm more wiry than anything. I'm pretty skinny, yet still can move fast and am quick, and regularly play tackle football with guys twice my size so toughness isn't an issue.

a lot of girls don't find skinny guys attractive, they want someone who looks like they can stand their own (basic survival instinct) you may not like lifting weights, but really do some curls with 30-40 lbs and your bicep/tricep will get bigger, if you want to work on your forearm and really don't want to lift weights start bowling. If you have any friends who have been bowling for a few years you will notice they have a very well defined and strong forearm plus you have fun while bowling.

I am 6'1 and I weigh 155 lbs, I know the struggles of the skinny man very well. when I was in high shcool I was 6'0 and weighed 140 lbs... I took weight lifting my freshman/sophmore/senior year. it is pretty fun to lift weights with people your size since it isn't daunting how much someone who weighs 30-40 lbs more then you can bench 70 lbs more then you... I found people my size in my class and we all pushed each other and moved our max up by 40 lbs during one semester, and by the time I graduated I had a very well defined body, after a few years of not lifting/working out ever I lost my six pack (now I only have a four pack when I lay down) but I'm going to start p90x here soon, then do insanity and finish up by joining a gym to buff up more. I don't want to be huge and look roided out, I just want to have a nice body again. Also I did a lot of manual labor (cut down trees, built combines, mounted tires, worked on cars, and did roofing) after I graduated from high school, it helps get you tone/stronger while making money so its a win win.

Man let me tell you something. Do what you gotta do to make you happy. I was in the same boat out of high school. After a couple years of feeling sorry for myself I decided to do something about it. I put on about 30 pounds of muscle and am living my life for me now. I go back to those same girls that overlooked me and see them with the same guys that were "more attractive" than I was and see them putting on weight, drinking beer, being tv drones. Basically turning in to your dad's friends that you saw growing up. Fat slobs. These same women will grow up one day and wonder how they went wrong, get divorced and then star fishing for men like you. Do your thing. You're the only person that can bring you happiness.

Well it all depends. I know a lot of girls will over look that fact if they like you, and after awhile will become acustomed to your body type and love you/ be attracted to you. but...im not too sure any girl is going to give you a second glance with an' omg he's so hot attitude'. I LOVE the fact that your confident in yourself. that is truly key when it comes to attracting the opposite gender. however, I would recomend lifting weights if you want girls to find you attractive right off the bat. I personally (as a girl) don't exactly enjoy doing weights, but I do them and I can tell you my ass is smokin! haha. it depends on how dedicated you are to your body and if you really want that extra sex appeal. but all girls are different and have different tastes. I weight 125 llbs, but I don't think you should feel bad about your body structure. its the way you are. :D

But tbh, I don't like the skinny body.. anything further than this would be absolutely unattractive to me. link call that skinny..so yeah..if you are thinner than that..and I could see rib cage...We need to hit the all you can eat buffets or something..it just creeps me out...skinny dudes. Sometimes I can cooperate if his face is beautiful...but if he really is this thin.. link no.

I am rude...but I am not attracted to slim jims.

My guy is just like you, but I don't find it unattractive at all. I love that he's like that. But I do want him to get a muscular on top, that way he can protect me when he holds me. Part of the reason why girls love a muscular buff man, but not too buff.

If you hate lifting weights, start with 15 pounds and once your arms get used to the weights, use heavier weights and that's how you can develop sexy arms and shoulders.

I think you're oversimpling. In order to build muscle, you really have to bust your ass in the gym. It's not as simple as "I'll do two sets of bicep curls, then I'll sit on my couch at home".

The way the worded it made it seem like you were implying that it's easy to build a physique. Next time you see a guy who's in really good shape, I hope you appreciate the fact that he busted his balls to look like that.

Well don't assume something when you don't know what I mean. I know its not easy to build muscle, I work out myself. Well I bust my ass too when I work out just so my guy is happy. I think its pretty fair!

I can speak from experience on this subject. When I started to lift weights, girls started to notice me A LOT more. And it also boosted my confidence.

You don't want to look like a bodybuilder, but you should beef up a bit. Think about it, have you ever seen a skinny guy as a model?

I think that if you are thin and well built up it's attractive..what I find unattractive is skinny guys with no muscles at all..i can't help but think they aren't strong enough to support me..but if you work out as you say you must be fine :)

well... I run so my lower body is pretty fit. But my upper body isn't very muscular. It doesn't affect toughness, if that's what you're worried about. I regularly play tackle football with guys twice my size ;)

football is based off of lower body strength, think of it, the only thing you use your arms for is grabbing people, I weigh 155 lbs but can take down people over 350 lbs, and plow through people who weigh well over 250. if you know physics then you can be very good at football.

I'm 180 and I ROUTINELY push around 600+ pounds of weight every day at work. I doubt you could tackle me, it's like trying to tackle that oak tree in your back yard.

I've got news for you sweetheart. I'm 6'1" 180, "skinny" and in my line of work I routinely come across young bucks (i'm 26) who are in the 6 foot 210 range who can't hold a candle to me when it comes to physical strength. Don't go sleeping on the "skinny" guys. This field I work in make me gain almost 30 pounds in 7 months. I basically work out 8 hours a day 5 days a week and still have to work my way in to an office job. You go to hug me? It's like hugging a tree trunk. Yo better hope I don't hug back or i'll be squishing your ass :P

Running does not make you toned. I run a lot but I have some fat on stomach but I look slim and fit with clothes on. It cannot be noticed at all with clothes on. So is it bad to be skinny fat?

I ran x country and track years ago, from the sound of it I **had your same build. If the guy has soft woman hands then let him do what he wants. Why don't you come fuck with men your own size. I bring in new guys to my work fairly often. We go to the temp service and ask for the biggest, strongest, youngest guys they have. Let me tell you I whip these boys in doing what we do. I left high school at 6 foot 1 and around 150. I'm now around 180 and routinely have to push 600 pounds of weigh around. It's all about functional strength. You can't learn that running. These women have no clue. I don't hug women hard because I think i'm going to break them in half. That's not my style.
