My boyfriend is gonna fight and break his hand again??

ok so my boyfriend does boxing and he fell hard by mistake and broke his index and middle fingers on his right hand on the back of his hand and lost and the other guy won by luck cause his hand got damaged... and the doctor says he has to put iron into his hand maybe when he goes and takes off his cast Tuesday... and 6 weeks from now he wants to go fight again , he says he can't let that other guy win again and it's a matter of his pride and he can't let that guy go around thinking he did something to him... I am worried what if he breaks his hand and he says he is sure he will break his hand... it's like I am more worried for his hand and he just isn't at all... I am afraid ='( next thing his hand gets paralyzed for life and then he can work... he also does construction and he needs his hands to work =((((( ... can his hand get paralyzed for life if it is broken again?

A proper pair of boxing gloves are to protect the boxer's hands. If he doesn't know how to put on his gloves and throw a punch with his front two knuckles, he doesn't belong in the ring.

And yes, some hand injuries are permanent, especially cartiledge pieces in the joints, if cracked, do not heal because there is no blood/capillaries to them, so they do not repair like a bone break would. Motion, function, and strength in the joint are all affected. I have such an injury from moving heavy equipment a long time ago.
