I am using aloe too. Sooo. Other stuff. Thanks :3
link <--- that's my back
If it's bad enough, I get in a really cold tub to draw the heat out. Use straight aloe gel, unless you can get prescription level burn cream. Most has too much petroleum or irritants. Wear something that won't stick, and is breathable, muslin or just really light cotton (synthetics tend to feel like they're burning me).
Cold water is pretty good pain relief once you're over that initial shock. And pure aloe, straight from a plant, is the best. The green liquid stuff is good too, from banana boat.
I had some road rash cream once for a year or so until it went bad, it was awesome. It's like noxema, but seems to work better.
Noxema is workable, I just like aloe the best. Mom swears by both of them though. ;)
After the bath, and the lotion, and light, breathable natural fibers, I think avoiding sun is obvious, and then lay with some air flow over you to soothe it.
Thanks a lot! :)
The bath is a good method for immediate relief but it dries out your skin and pulls it tight. Avoid water if you want it to heal faster and with less irritation. Also try solarcaine spray. That sh*t is awesome. So cool and refreshing.
That's why you put lotion on after using the water... if youve got blisters, according to experts, "When cooling a second degree burn, you should run it under cool not cold water."
Read more: link I've only been a lifeguard, so what do I know. If you've only got peeling, the water will still soothe you.
No way to avoid having it peel. You've damaged your skin and killed a layer or two. It's dead.
A good way to peel it thought is when all the pain is gone you soak in water for a good 45minutes then have someone scrub your back in circular motions and it will clot up the dead skin and peel it all away.
Aw :\
Well thanks :3
Ouch >_< I just put lots of lotion when I had a sunburn a couple of weeks ago and worn thin & light shirts
i have no idea about sunburns, I haven't had one . erm...
maybe this will help :S

I told you, you show it to all the guys.
Don't irritate it. I never peel unless someone slaps or pinches the burn. In which case, you're gonna be mad at your brother :P
IT WAS A REFERENCE. My lower back is starting to peel :(
Reference or not still showing it... :/ were you peeling before he slapped you?
Nope.
My theory wins >:)
Irritation makes a burn much more likely to peel. Best thing you can do is wear a loose shirt (or shirtless for guys who can or girls with privacy) and lay on your stomach while you sleep. However, once you start peeling.. it spreads like infection :P
OH GOD.
What!>?
Peanuts.
Wonder where you got that link from? Oh yeah. ME.
Yup. Right in Maine (ME), where I live and thus was googling inside of, when I came across this link.

You can't avoid peeling, hey, the skin is dead...the aloe will help with thepain and itching, but it has to come off!
