What's a great way to lose weight?

I'm currently a sophomore in college. I'm 5'6 and weight 190 pounds. I'm a size between Medium/Large in shirts and a size 14 in shorts/pants. I don't look as fat as I should, thankfully. But, I still feel fat.

Before I start with details for my question, if you have nothing nice to say, then leave.

I attend a school where almost 85% of the student population is skinny and attractive. Because I'm not a part of that 85%, I feel fat and ugly. I envy all of my closest friends/roommate because of how skinny and pretty they are. I also tend to compare myself to the girls my ex-crush and my crush tend to hang out with/like. I would also like to fit into the normal clothes from Forever 21.

This summer, I realized that I had to do something. But, I ended up getting swamped with summer school homework. The good thing is that school ends on Tuesday. I need to know what are some great diets, exercise workouts, tips that I can use to lose weight. I currently jump rope (added are two two-pound weights that boxers use). I would like to get to a size 10 before school starts again (last week of August) or at least go back to my normal size of size 12. I really really need the help! I would like to feel pretty and be healthy!
