I went swimming and cut the top of my foot on a rock. Now it's very sore. It's red all over and yellow in the middle. Is it infected?

Don't mess around with this. I am not going to scare you with what sorts of bacteria are out there, but you should should immediately get some Betadine from the drugstore and clean the wound with it, then put ointment, such as Neosporin on it together with a bandage. Betadine is a surgical scrub and Neosporin is an ointment. Then go the hospital ASAP to get it checked out. Good Luck!

Buy some Neosporin cream and rub it in the cut. That should keep it from getting infected. Do this as soon as possible. Also, try to let the foot air out and avoid wearing socks or shoes when possible. How long ago did you cut your foot?

It was yesterday in a river. I didn't clean it or anything. Then this morning it hurt worse than it did when I cut it.

It could be pus. Clean it with soap and water. And put some over the counter disinfectant cream on it and bandages.
