Ladies, what should I cook for her?

I promised a classmate I'd make her dinner this weekend. I wanna keep it casual, but something a little romantic never hurt nobody. :) What would you want a man to cook for you?

Tamales please!...lol that'd be one heck of a job for a guy haha...no but seriously I'd actually assign him to do something he COULD do for me...but something romantic would be nice as well :) I'd suggest :

1.) Macaroni, Brisket with rice\Broccoli, Steak\t-bone with steak fries, Lasagna (a favorite), chicken parmesan, sloppy Joe, etc most importantly something we both like.

2.) Drinks: soda (if she drinks soda), homemade horchata ( I like natural drinks but you can make whatever you want that she may like) Wine, beer, etc

3). Dessert: cheesecake, angel cake, milk jello, any kind of ice cream, homemade brownies, cream puffs, chocolate covered strawberries, fruit salad etc

Believe it or not there are a few guys that can cook. I can make Tamales with know problem what so ever. I have been a chef for quite a long time. And no,every guy that can cook is not gay.

Depends on what she likes. Some of the dinners I had cooked for me were Steak with baked potato and asparagus. Escargot with crusty french bread. Fresh steamed crabs. It all depends on the girl. I had one guy make grilled cheese sandwiches and set up a picnic in his apartment. It was very cute. Good Luck!

I would just ask her what she likes since the two of you don't exactly know each other.

Maybe she's a salad only girl, a burger girl or pasta? who knows, ask her to pick 3 dishes she likes and you'll cook the one you feel most comfortable.

Go with something you can cook.

There's no point telling you to do something really complicated if you can't/don't know how to do it!

But as a few ideas:

- Steak is a typical 'manly' thing to make. It can be tricky to cook right for someone but the effort would be hugely appreciated!

- Pasta bake is easy and can look really good. Bit of salad and/or garlic bread; cheap and simple!

- Fish can be very easy and quick. Fish in a creamy sauce with either salad or potato.

- Or for something that looks very flashy but is really easy, cook some chicken and wrap bacon round it and then cook some more. Serve with something simple like chips, salad, mash, something like that.

Also, you're gonna wanna check if she's a veggie :)

Asparagus would go really well with the chicken and bacon one, but I would recommend doing a strong sauce like cheese cause then if she doesn't like it, the taste will be masked :)

When it comes to dessert it can be shop bought. Something fruity cause it's summer, of chocolate is almost always a sure-thing dessert! Best of luck, you've got tons of meals to pick from now :P

Well if you know what kind of food she likes then go with that other wise cook something you like to make and enjoy eating that way you can share something about you plus if you like to make it chances are you can make it well. Just make sure she doesn't have allergies. I love when men take initiative and to have a man say "I made something for you" in it's self would be awesome.

It's summer. Fire up the grill. I'd make some bbq chicken, corn on the cob and a nice garden salad. mmmmm! That's casual and it's still nice. If you wanna get a little romantic you could make shish-ka-bobs with chicken and shrimp on the grill and a side of some rice or some vegetable.Delish!

Maybe make some brownies ...I would die for the guy who makes me brownies. Many of my friends love brownies..this is for desert. And as food, maybe make some chicken soup with some salad. I'm the worst cook, but I do appreciate it when a guy cooks for me. Most girls do~
