What are your thoughts on Gareth Bale?
I think he's a knob, Tottenham were the club that made him and in the end he didn't show up for training and turned his back on them for money. Same as Ronaldo did at United... I personally don't see the full reason for it. No doubt they were both earning big amounts beforehand, I think it's just greed to expect more. With Ronaldo you could at least say he wanted to play somewhere closer to home, but Bale is a Welshman going to Madrid... Rooney is doing the same thing, throwing his rattle out of the pram, because he 'isn't happy'. Sure he put in the effort to become a talent, but honestly he has only had one standout season, Ronaldo was consistent for a few years and still is. Bale was decent, but he wasn't a runaway star every season. I think he'll either play well and have a good career, or he'll just relax and go downhill. Look at Kaka, he was an incredible player who won player of the year, went to Madrid, essentially disappeared... now he's an average player back at AC?!
Unfortunately I am a die hard Spurs fan (they always end up letting me down every season though) and Gareth Bale moving to Madrid was very upsetting.
Meh, I personally think Spurs are better off... They've bought well and made a massive amount of money from a player had one standout season and who disrespected them in the end. Soldado is a great buy, and he's a very loyal player which I respect as well as a great goalscorer. They also have a solid midfield. I felt that they were robbed at Arsenal at the weekend.
May I just interject with the fact that Ronaldo wants to move back to United? At least to end his career with. And I honestly don't believe Rooney wants to leave United for more money, I mean, I know the feeling where you're happy somewhere but you think you can be happier somewhere else. If he's wrong, he's wrong, that's his fault but the best thing about United is that most of their best players WANT to play for them. If Rooney's even thinking about moving, United is better off without him.
Ronaldo says that, and he's already made his millions... He may want to go back to United, but he made a big fuss to get out as well. Rooney has actually managed to get into debt previously due to gambling, I'm not saying it's the sole reason he wants to leave but I do think he wants to leave. I support United, but I think they'd be better off without him... When he's fit they usually feel like they have to play him since he's an England international and seen as 'World Class'.
Why? They play for themselves, not the clubs. It's just "loyalty" doesn't exist in any other profession, so it shouldn't have to exist in football. Top players go where they have the best chance of success. Spurs may at best win an FA or League Cup or even Europa League in the next few years, but the league or Champions League, no. Bale knew this, so this is why he left.
I don't think they'll win the Champions League, but they'll have a chance at the premier division. Loyalty because they are the ones who made them famous, who made them a good player. Bale might have moved to Madrid, but he's still not guaranteed a starting place since they're all apparent superstars. Anyway it's not like Madrid have come close to winning the Champions League in a good few years. Man City aren't an overly great side and people are expecting them to win it.
Yeah I don't see City winning it either, But they've got more chance than Madrid... I don't think Milan will win, they barely scraped past PSV... I'd say Bayern or Barcelona as well. Spurs are better off than a lot of the other teams at the moment. They've definitely gotten a stronger side than last season.
He is not the luckiest. You have to have something more important at stake and be triumphant. For example, I think cancer survivors have both more drive and more luck than him. Getting cancer was obviously not lucky but then overcoming it and living a full and happy life is. Or Stephen hawking, he is fully paralyzed and should have died 50 years ago, but instead he has a family, a fortune, the ability to still communicate, the greatest mind of our era, fame, has lived into his 70s, hell he has even experienced zero Gs. He has so much that we all dream about but he also overcame so much we never will. This makes him stronger, smarter, more determined, and yes.. more lucky than Gareth bale... and if you veiw all that as more bad than good I have one name for you... Hugh Heffner
Don't really care about athletes so much. They are grossly over paid meanwhile teachers in the public school system can barely afford to live. The same with social workers etc. This society gets on my damn nerves with praising people who get knocked around and eventually have life long head injuries. Why we decide to praise people who actually don't contribute that much to society is beyond me.
He's lucky in his own way that's a lot of money. But there are men out there richer than him. Bill Gates for instance

Young age? yeah, modern society's view is the absolute!
You sound envious, and frankly bitter. He simply was born good at football, and then good enough to play at a high professional level.
Maybe he could have prevented 1-0, but it's difficult to know haahahahaa...
lol! why on earth would I be bitter? you sound like a loser
nope, like I said, based on first impressions you sound like a loser.
I think he's a lucky guy who has worked hard to be where he is. But am I envious of him? No. Don't know how you came to that conclusion.
He's lucky, but not the luckiest. Certainly having that kind of financial security and a family at that age is a good thing that only the lucky tend to enjoy
Not really, to me the luckiest people on the planet are the guys who own Google.
he doesn't seem that lucky.iTs just money.who cares.
Gareth Bale can go f*** himself.
