Did my employer stiff me?

I told my employer that my mom was ill and wasn't going to live much longer and they said that I would get 3 paid days off and that I could use my vacation time also if I needed more. I called in two of those thinking I was going to get paid but apparently that was only after she dies. That was my fault I guess. So I went back to work the day after she died and they set me straight on how the bereivement days worked and changed my schedule to give me the Friday Saturday and Sunday off since the funeral was on Saturday. Well it turns out they only paid me for Friday and Monday since I decided to use vacation time. So if I didn't decide to use my vacation day on Monday they were only planning on giving me one paid day off. I asked them about why it doesn't show anything for Saturday and Sunday and the hr lady says well you were already scheduled to be off those days so we can't pay you since it would give you more hours. WTF? Why did everyone tell me I get three days off that are paid? So next time a family member dies make sure you work those days before you tell them otherwise you won't get any paid time off? Honestly I don't really care about the money, it's the fact that they tell me I get paid and then they don't pay me. I talked to the hr manager and the asm and didn't get anywhere. I guess I'll talk to the store manager now or should I take it to a corporate level?

I don't know why she changed my schedule then. Really what she should have done is give me Friday Saturday and Sunday as bereavement and then I could have had Monday and Tuesday off like normal instead of altering the schedule and basically making it so I got no bereivment pay and still had to come to work anyways to make my money.
