I don't collect records but if your project has to do with organizing or lists or something like that, feel free to DM me.
It's to do with sets of numbers etched into the run-out groove area.
That, my friend, I am TOTALLY clueless about! :)
That is why I was asking record collectors. I've already got over 60,000 and have had them in the order I want them and catalogued since the mid `80's.
60,000!!! That's fantastic.
Thanks! It'd be more like 62,000 but, my greedy evil ex-sisters caused me to lose at least 2,000 3 years ago!
booooooooooooooo
BIG TIME!! THEY WERE ALL 78'S AND I STILL HADN'T EVEN HEARD MOST OF THEM!! I'LL NEVER BE ABLE TO GET THEM BACK, AGAIN!!
Excuse the caps, except for the first 2 words, it wasn't intentional.
lol all good man. The caps were necessary.
Anyway, I'm just looking info on records that have Delta numbers. They started using them in July `54 and continued up to about `93.
Fascinating. Never knew.
Collectors use these Dellta numbers to hellp find rellease datyes on the recoords and I started compiling a list of them back in the late `90's and have over 35,000 in the list, so far. I think that means, I've only got about 1/3 of the numbers used but, it's mostly because I've been distracted from it for such a long time, with mom having a stroke, dad dying, mom dying, those bitches kicking me out of my house, looking for work, etc..
The cataloging is a pretty amazing project...
I started doing my albums in the computer suite in college. After dinner, I'd take at least 50 of them to school with me and spend a couple hours listing them on a floppy drive. I started trying to do my singles on a laptop my future ex-fiance had but, found that I needed some kind of program to be able to do it and a hard drive to load the program onto! Not long after this, I bought a used computer, what were they called, 352's? And I started doing it on there. By `99 or so, I bought a brand new one and have been using it for most of my computer work, ever since. Eventually, I replaced it with this one when the old one died.
My father in law used to sell records from an small shop, now works for another shop that made it part time in retire. ent. He still goes to trade shows. What specific question would someone in the business be able to answer?
@Sixgunsound Any questioned posed to them that had to do wit records, I guess. I'm just wondering if anyone would be interested in going through their collection to look for Delta numbers and let me know what they've found.
