So, I mainly collect fragrances, although I'm looking into collecting other things that I quite enjoy.
Why do I collect fragrances? Well, it's a personal, emotionl, and sentimental reasoning.
For me, scents can make you feel a certain way and make you remember certain times in your life that may have been memorable. Scents can make you feel confident, sexy, bold, etc. Of course, it is always better to layer this with other stuff and of course it is always better to have confidence in a deeper part inside of you rather than strictly within materialistic items.
It's all personal for me, so I don't see the investment opportunity of my collection because there is none. Also, I don't base my decisions on what I'm into on how much profit I will make in the future or if I sold my collection.
I already make money from my careers
My collection is something more intangible, personal, etc.
Also, I like talking about fragrances to likeminded people.
People collect stamps, cards, etc
It's all subjective and uniquely personal.

I do go quite into the scent profile of fragrances as well. So, I'll compare certain notes that I get from them and even compare after a few hours of it being on my skin, "drydown" as it's called. I have a variety from more sweet, fresh, florally mixed with some wood notes, spicy mixed with tangy fruity notes. It all depends on what mood I'm in, but all of them smell good. I always pair with a nice fitting outfit, accessory like a watch or bracelet, and obviously being overall clean and hygienic
It's so sad to see family members treat collections they've been handed down. Regardless of the items value, it's something they put time n effort into n had meaning to them, however silly it may seem.
I'm a collectors collector n accumulate bits n pieces that I think certain people might like or kno there is a market for.
I don't do it for profits, usually I find the stuff so it's all profit lol but if I see that u can't afford anything for something u dream about I wouldn't hesitate in passing it on for a smile.
I am also a fan of a nice scent but sadly can be halfway through a glass of milk n be alerted it's not so fresh lol. I tend to like the ladies range more than the men's

My favourite smell is a welding workshop that's flat out welding n cutting/grinding steel with grinders ha ha fave scent is lemongrass n I've recently selected hoop homme for it's spicy lemony yum
I like antiques from USA Civil war to Europe and Asia. Swords to mahogany furniture etc. Have lots of 1901-1949 stuff too. I’m also a Christmas blow mold guy and most are 1920s-1970s too. 🤷🏻♂️
I collect books, i love getting them from second hand stores and flea markets. And in a way i collect clothes too i guess. I don't follow trend cycles, i. e. when i buy a piece of clothing i will wear it for years. I repair them and if i don't like them anymore i change them up. I still have clothing items that i got when i was 16
I used to collect rocks a little kid because every place I went, there would be rocks.
Of things I'd hope to collect in the future, Guns are one. beautiful plus I enjoy seeing how they function and are disassemble. I've consider collecting other things like buttons, dolls, eggs, keys and keychains, and posters but never have.
Example of what I mean lol. Dolls and buttons are the most likely to happen, they carry a homey sentimentality for me.
You're very sentimental for a guy, i find it lovely. That collection of yours looks great too! My mother collects fragrances the same way as you. My collection are small photo albums for pictures. If I see a cute photo album, I'd get it even if I won't use it yet. It just makes me feel happy
Items telling the history of a country/kingdom/colony? Coins.
Pretty/unique designs? Coins.
Items associated with a particular historical figure/event? Coins.
These are things used in the everyday lives of people from many years ago, and I always think about what stories an old coin could tell if it could speak.
I also do collect banknotes, on a smaller scale. and I have a bunch of rubiks cubes.
I collect coins, it's something my father got me started doing when I was very young. To me, coin collecting is capturing pieces of history, the date and mint on a coin, who is shown on the coin, what is the denomination and what's it worth, if anything.
For me, it started when my uncle gave me a bunch of old square coins from the Straits Settlements era (Brit colony at the time). Coins are as historically significant as they are unique.

I’m kind of a book snob. I have a few first editions of various books that are no longer in print, I bought one old book for one dollar in a library that is worth about $400. An old edition of the Decameron. I’m into antique book stores, book restoration, all that stuff.
