Yes, I have several friends who have boats, Jet Skis, Wave Runners, and SeaDos. And the Sacramento River is a major zone for personal watercraft - it's the main river that feeds the San Francisco Bay.
The original Jet Skis were the stand-up type, and were the first really popular personal watercraft, in part because they were relatively affordable.

While these stand-up models are still made, they've been almost completely replaced in the market by sit-down models that are far easier for people of every skill level, especially beginners, to use. Sit-down models are larger and more expensive, but still own over 90% of the personal watercraft market.

One of my friends is kind of obsessed with being out on the water, and he's got a 32' boat AND 4 Sea-Doos, including 2 large 3-seaters. I've towed the Sea-Doo trailer while he tows the boat in his big-ass F350. That's usually summer 4-day weekends like Memorial Day or 4th of July.

Jet Skis are Water Motorcycles in my book & although I don’t own any I usually rent them & take them out for a few hours. In addition to being on jet skis I have been on a water skis, speed boats, banana boats & skydiving 3 times.
I want to try out flyboarding as well.
https://www.youtube.com/embed/m4Bm3cs9TFolol no way I once tried driving a regular boat and it was scary AF. It didn't even go that fast, but I had no breaks. Thankfully you don't typically need breaks on a slow boat, but it's scary with out them, So I don't know what I'd do on a jet ski
I grew up surrounded by them by I left home just as I got old enough to get into riding one.
To be fair I had some time to do it but I was broke at the time so I didn’t.
And now that i can afford it I’m a long way from any decent waterfront
Yep. Grew up with them. My sister still has the last one we bought. Doesn’t use it much.
I want to do it because you can do a focus in women’s health, and that is all the hiring rage right now at primary care offices. It is highly sought after.
Parents of girls really like the idea of having someone at their child’s primary care provider with a specialty in this. It has caught on like wildfire where I live and I like the idea of being able to answer questions that us women go through at a young age.
@Abbycado you certainly have your goals in the right direction. Good luck with your studies.
Anyone else constantly tired from working the night shift? ↗
yea, meh... boring.
Id rather sail, sail board, ride dirt bike or something else.
I really don't like the idea there are chompy things in the waters I cannot see, but they see me.
My profession is to make boats and yachts.
Your picture does not show a jet-ski.
Personally, I refuse to be seen on one.
@andreasderjuengere What would you call the one in the picture?
It could be a 'tender' if it belongs to a larger yacht.
Or a 'runabout'.
And to keep you bored with technical details: a jetski has a jet drive propulsion, where the boat in the picture has an outboard motor 😵💫
No, I am a very weak swimmer and I don't get out on the water very often. I have driven a snowmobile and that was tremendous fun!
Yeah, a lot of people ride them out here. They're kind of expensive to rent, though, 75 bucks an hour.
Yes a few times when I lived in Jersey close to the oceans, it was fun flying across the ocean and hitting waves 😊
It was a lot of fun. For some reason my girlfriend went all submissive and just wanted to hang onto me. That added to the whole experience.
not really... but I was rescued in one, lmao
What most people refer to as a jet ski are actually "wave runners". A key ski is smaller and you stand up on it.
Anyway. I have ridden a wave runner, but never an actual jet ski.
@jennz6 Never have, but would like to try it.
Many times. Cool once in awhile but no desire to own one.
Like riding a sport-touring motorcycle in heavy rain.
Yes, but not in many years. I always had fun doing it.
I’ve been on small boats, but I’ve never been on a jet ski, but it’s basically a motorcycle on water,
I have not. That's like either rich white kid shit or live close to a beach kid shit.
no but I’ve been mountain climbing and I’ve also body surf the ocean
Once on the ocean. I’ve seen people fish off them too, which I think would be cool
I do it all the time to me its like a motorcycle for water
yeah it's fantastic and fast
@XXblack88 I’m happy for you and the fun you had
Yes. The jet was not aimed directly backward and had issues, but we survived.
Haven't. I'm begginer swimmer.
Yes, they are so much fun.
Never... but I wanna try it...
Yes it was awesome
@CubaPirate could you give me a ride?
A ride for a ride baby hehe
@CubaPirate
Of course sweetheart
Ride... no, almost crashed one, yss
@dinojames22 you mean crashed into one?
Came about a foot from hitting thr dock
@dinojames22 you’re lucky you didn’t get hurt
Yes and also lucky that no one cold see that I might have pissed myself out of fear
Not yet but it looks like fun
Nope. And I don"t think I ever will
