I have never worked night shifts. I'm either at the office during the day, or working from home for a maximum of 2 days a week.
I did spend some late nights working when I had to prepare a presentation or a meeting on Teams for the following day.
I understand it can be tiresome for you.
@Natasha1995
Love you dear đ

Thank you so much for the MHO
@Natasha1995 the customer is always right - thoughts? And service with a smile every time - thoughts? :) đ
@NicholasofAustralia The customer is always right - yes, to a certain extent. But I will keep my thoughts and funny faces to myself. For some, complaining is a way of life.
Latest Iâve had to work is around 11pm for some corporate chartered boat last summer.
Most of the ones I typically do are privately owned boats and family events.
Yes, and itâs completely normalânight shifts fight your biology.
From my years coaching healthcare and security staff on odd schedules, a few things help:
- Keep a consistent sleep window, even on days off when possible.
- Use blackout curtains, eye mask, and white noise; treat daytime like âreal night.â
- Avoid heavy meals and caffeine in the last 4â6 hours before sleep.
- Get bright light on your âmorningâ and dim light before sleep.
- Exercise lightly after waking, not before bed.
If exhaustion persists for weeks, ask a doctor about shiftâwork sleep disorder.

I worked the overnight shift for approximately 15 years, and I got used to it after a while. I'd sleep for a few hours at a time, instead of 8-9 hours all at once. If you can adapt that way, you might like it. It's nice to be going home when everyone else has to go to work.
In the military I worked day and night...72 hour shift with 8 hours off and then right back to watch for another 72 hours stright. I did that shit for about a year. I would be so tired that I'd have out of body experiences while I was technically awake. It was like being drunk... only worse. I'd walk into objects like a light pole in public. We just had a real asshole as our Division Officer and because we were forward deployed... pretty damn sure he will get away with it.
So working nights is bad? Try 3 days and 3 nights in a row with only 8 hours off and you still have to walk home to sleep and get up to go back 3 hours before work. They need you to muster early for the early muster to make sure you're clean enough for insepection.
We didn't get extra pay or overtime like a civillian... we were just slaves. Then I get back to the states and you pussies whine about shit slavery from over 100 years ago and no health care...
Look, I know it's tough... but, it could be worse. Trust me... I've done worse. Hang in there... it's not going to kill you. You know, like they say, "That that doesn't kill you... and so on"
I've worked straight nights for almost a decade now. 11pm-7am.
It has it's disadvantages but I've always been somewhat flexible with my sleep. I've managed to make it work and not have it be completely disruptive to my life.
One thing you do need to keep on top of is your vitamins. Specifically vitamin D (that doesn't stand for vitamin dick... get your mind out of the gutter).
Everyone who does night shift for long enough will eventually find themselves lacking in some sort of vitamin, and I've known several people who were extremely deficient in vitD making them always tired and lethargic.
I worked overnight 12's for many years. The first job, if we were producing I was working so once worked 43 straight days of 3pm to 3am which prompted me to look for something kinder, still 12's but from 7pm to 7am and a 3/2/2 rotating weekly schedule. Hey, every other weekend a 3 day weekend, not bad after the prior circumstance, but it still punishes you forever after. You're fighting the nature of the human body.
I never worked nights but for a long time my sleep schedule was messed up and half my social life took place late at night
It was horrible especially in the morning (which was noon most days)
Eventually I made a change and now I sleep nights and work days
@jennz6 I did it while in college, Jenn, and I kinda liked it, as I went to school during the day and went to work at 5 P. M. usually went home around 2:00 in the morning. I scheduled classes starting at around 11:00 and it worked out fine for me then.
Not really. When I had a co-worker, even if only for 2 hours NO, because we played games and watched movies and screwed around😂
The only thing that sucked was having to close up. Aside from that, I sort of preffered it, because it was less busy and I still had the first half of the day to myself and didn't have to wake up early.
I was more sick of always having to work weekends
I work whatever hours I choose. . . usually 10 am to 5:30 pm. I'm good.
My wife works in a grocery store deli and must be there at 6:00 am, so her alarm goes off at 4:30 am. She seems to be constantly tired.
I was tired of it years ago and will never go back to it , when I worked night shifts I felt like I wasnât a part of the world because my sleep schedule was all messed up
Sometime ago I used to work as a carrier guy and had to stay. at late hours because of the delay of arrival of the trucks we were supposed to load sometimes it lasted till morning and yeah it was really exhausting
Nope, It's 2:08 AM and I'm about to go for a run before work. I'm tired all the time from working this shift though lol
I thought you worked the dayshift at the stripper club
I don't work nights, but the 6-day-a-week day shifts can be tedious at times.
Hı jenz, You look tired, but also very loyal.
@Masumgunahkar
Thanks babe đ
I haven't worked a late night or overnight shift in years, but when I did my sleep schedule was off and yes I found myself to be tired 😴😪
It's not healthy, only some people can handle it. When you work regularly over the time it would show its results.
If it's something you enjoy then fine
You're only 37 and looking older because of the night shifts, i know you're job, i hope that someday you'd be able to leave it and have a stable normal happy life!
I don't know. I like working nights because, on my days off, I can appreciate the silence evenings can provide. Plus, I love watching the sun rise.
I used to get tired at first, when I was working night shifts... but later, I found a way to get some rest even when I "work" ;)
Yes I have a rotating 12hr roster that has a mix of nights and days so most of the time I have no idea what time of the day or week it is.
Night shift is not good for you. A person ages faster for a start.
Look how pretty! 😍 Haven't worked night since I was 18 and it sucked! Screws u p your body timing! At least for me!
