Why the Spirit of Christmas has Died

So I'm usually a very jolly person during Christmas , you know, joy and peace to all men and all that shizzle. But this year I've noticed that the Christmas spirit was just not there. After a lot of reflection, I realized I still loved Christmas but the Christmas I knew had died...so please who or what killed Christmas.

1. Age

I've grown past the age of presents, at least in my country and suddenly going from a lot of those to none is just annoying. I gave people and expected to receive some but nothing. I'm so crying in my head. Also my parents now think we can entertain ourselves so there was no Christmas tree, no decorations, no ice cream...why couldn't I stay young and stupid forever?

2. SOME of my Muslim classmates

Please guys, I don't need to hear how Christmas is a pagan festival and Christians are infidels. Stop being Debbie downers because I can't remember doing the same during Ramadan or any Muslim festival. And if I'm an infidel, I'm so never helping you do your assignment again.

This my take doesn't account for atheists since I'm Nigerian.......we're very religious.

3. The ongoing recession

I know that's there is a recession but Christmas is a season of joy. Seeing parents complain everywhere about how things are so expensive now is such a turnoff. Don't you want some joy in the midst of these hard times? Being bitter doesn't help anybody, when are people going to learn that? My mum was so pissed because it turned her off too. People just prefer to sit down and be unhappy instead of making simple but joyful memories.

So if your Christmas was meh for you, comment what killed your Christmas. If it was awesome, comment what made it so.

Here's to a better new year's celebration......cheers.
