Why do people get offended when I tell them I don't celebrate Christmas?

I don't celebrate any Holiday in December and its not a matter of religion to me. It's not part of my culture. I am Kurdish and we never grew up with that. Also I am not mad that I never got any gifts. You can't miss something you never had either.

People are small minded and if you don't do what they do they become scared

ok, serious answer. People get attacked these days for saying Merry Christmas. The latest idiocy on that is that some white girls are claiming that it is white supremacy. In a society where people are attacking something that you love you might just mix all of these things together and become hostile to something like what you said

I have Jewish and Islamic friends that don't celebrate and its not a problem for me. If someone told me that they don't celebrate it because it is racist then I would probably stop talking to them.

Yeah I think what those white girls said is ridiculous too. If someone says Merry Christmas to me I just say it back. I meant when a friend will ask me what I did for that day and when I respond by saying "oh I don't celebrate Christmas". Then that's where the whole conversation starts and where they act offended sometimes or shocked that dont.
