Have you ever known a young person that took his/her own life?

Unfortunately, this is the time of year that people, especially single people, become depressed and end their own lives. Mercifully, I have never known someone that ended their life around the holidays but have known someone that did so for some unknown reason, or perhaps for some supposedly known reason.

I know this is a TABOO subject, anytime, and especially at this time of year that we are looking forward to spending time with friends and relatives and a New Year, but as a person that has studied behaviors, socially, I have sadly been around some of those people that, for whatever reason they did not want to live any longer, and this message is to bring the subject to the forefront, so that any GAG people that are in contact with those that may be in a vulnerable position at this time of year, you might reach out to those persons and be a friend, and show them that you value them and what they mean to you and yours.

I write this because I have lost friends and acquaintances that gave up on living for some reason, that will always not be understood, and if I HAD KNOWN they were sad, depressed, giving up on their life, I would have tried to do something to help them.

I worked with a gentleman, at a bank as a teen, and his 19-year-old daughter ended her life with a Skydiving club I was a member of. She apparently was broken hearted over an ended relationship with another member of the club, and no one knew that she was in that state of mind. The Jump Master, that put the girl out of the aircraft that day, must live with that memory forever, and I certainly understand his feelings.

Please do what you can for those that are elderly, ill, alone at this time of year, and perhaps we can get through another Holiday, without losing any of our friends or loved ones.

Unfortunately, I have. When I used to be in ROTC, there was this sophomore in my element. I barely knew him, but we got along. I remember him pantsing my partner when we were all working on a project lmao. Covid hit, and I didn't think much of him till last year, I get a remind from my old flight commander, asking me If I knew a (insert name). I said yes and asked why, and I was told that he passed away. It was sad, but I didn't feel much from his death. I was more shocked than anything else, and didn't have much more to offer than sympathy for his family. I may not have known him well, but I think of him almost every day now

What a solemn and caring post! We are all connected, even if we don't directly know somebody who has quit on life, we know those who have been affected. Thank you for reminding all of us.

I know a few in highschool who did and shit felt wicked through my highschool years.

One was a crip who had a walking disability cause he got shot or something at a young age but like no bangers picked on him even if he was enemigo, and you get packed for it but I guess he wasn't happy and passed away

Another kid in highschool shortly died of suicide I am not sure of his reasons, he was well known so it was weird some people suspect it wasn't a suicide and a murder but but that corrupt pd ruled it as a suicide.

Then we had another who threw himself off a bridge and into them currents & died

Then you got abuncha people i grew up with overdosing off heroine and fetanyl, which is suicide to me cause it was well known whoever was passing out them drugs was killing ppls.

But I be telling people that city is fucked n people think I'm joking it's wicked up there and shit gets twisted & your headed no where fast so alotta people get stagnant and stuck & make that choice.
