At around nine years old I finally figured out that "Santa" was actually my grandmother on Christmas Eve. I knew this because of her handwriting on the note and the fact I always left a diet soda out instead of milk because she insisted it (My grandmother was diabetic).

My parents were like, sure, okay "Santa," but I don't think we ever believed it because we saw them literally putting presents under the tree before Christmas every year, and we had no chimney for the guy to slide down, and of course Santa was at every single mall, so any belief we might have had didn't last too long. I do remember this hilarious debate on a school trip with my friends who still believed where they were fiercely defending Santa's existence, and I kept saying he's not real and here's why.

Yes and no, Santa always left unwrapped presents under the tree. My parents had us write our names on a piece of paper so Santa would know which section was for each of us.
He only came as long as we believed in him, eventually friends told me he wasn't real but that's a lie, as Santa is real... just not how he is portrayed in the media.
Parents can be Santa and have the gift of Christmas Magic to make things magical and that part is true.
Hollywood just portrays him as some jolly old guy in a red suit, that part is not true.
Anyone can be Santa and have the Christmas spirit and give a little to anyone.
The religious school I went to for elementary grades wasn’t of much help. They told kids as young as kindergarten that their parents were lying to them and would face the wrath of God for ignoring Jesus. Utter and complete bullshit. That’s when my distaste for all organized religions got started. Catholic high school sealed it when I started mouthing off to priests and nuns. Hypocrisy.
I was 5 and I wanted a power wheel for Christmas but didn't get one, the bratty neighbor got one and I thought Santa didn't think I was good enough that year so my mom told me the truth.

As a kid I believed things very easily but I don't think I ever believed the gift came from Santa Clause. My parents would tell me what they planned to buy me for Christmas so I knew it came from them.

we were never tricked into it really... no our tradition down here
Those lies never existed in our house. We never celebrated Christmas.
Not really, but I discovered the fact that my dad was my tooth fairy! I really wanted to visit the fairy land with the tooth fairy. And I thought it was possible if I woke up when tooth fairy was in my room and caught her hand! I caught my father's hand though...
Yes. I still remember how I found out 🤣 When I was a kid, my mum would always tell me to write a letter to Santa, so like every year, I wrote it and gave it to my parents to ''send'' it, only to find it in the drawer few days after lol. That's how I figured it out 😆
Yes, because every year my mom would use the same bag to store our presents, and use the same wrapping paper we had at home. We also lived in an apartment so there was no chimney, so how could 'Santa' get in?
No. I never figured this out. So far as I'm aware, Santa Claus is a real person and has nothing to do with my parents.
I was 7 when I found out he wasn’t real. It was Christmas Eve and I was in bed, when I heard something downstairs. Thinking it was Santa I ran down the stairs, but stopped halfway when I saw it was just my parents with a bunch of gifts. I sat there and watched them until they finished. Then went back to bed. I stayed up all night, not crying or angry, just numb. I told them the next year that I knew it was them.
I realised quite young, maybe 7 or 8, but I played along for my mum's sake till I was about 13 lol
Yes, my parents used to hide all the presents in the attic and one year my mother left the door open and I saw some of the presents. I was 7 or 8 I think.
Yes, my cousin's ruined it for me because they were terrible kids and my aunt's & uncle's didn't like buying them lots of presents. Lol
We always knew that Santa clause was fake and our presents came from our parents.
Yes I did. I was a light sleeper on Christmas Eve so I saw my Dad sneaking into the bedroom to fill my stocking. We had a mature discussion about it the next day. To be honest I think I half suspected the truth already.
my older sister told us. it sucked. and it sucked even worse for my little sister
What! They are? Waaaaaaaaaaaa
Merry Christmas everyone.
I think I found out around age 10-11
So that is why I haven't gotten any presents from Santa lately.
I was told that, but I still believe in Santa.
Santa Claus isn't real?
I think I was 10 or 11 when I found out
