It's far better being single on NYE when you can simply passionately kiss people that you don't know , or people that are OOB..
I've had some wonderful NYEs like this..
Sadly here in Thailand , and it's same in China , unless they are a bar slut or something, very few know how to kiss , or are into it.
Reverse is the case in Australia although it's become a lot more prudish.
