It's... very overrated. It's just a nice way to ring in the new year if you're lucky enough to have someone to share one with. It won't bring you good luck, a lasting relationship, or promise anything. Some people just equate being kissed with their attraction and/or luck.

I'll be celebrating new years the same way I do every year: binge watching old episodes of the Twilight Zone.
