What's the BEST Christmas party you've ever been to?

What's the best Christmas party you've ever been to and what made it so?

Did you begin a new relationship? Did you propose/get proposed to? Did you reconcile with an estranged friend or family member? Did you receive some other joyful news (promotion, release from the hospital/recovery from injury or illness, etc.)?

My wife had a hair client who served a couple terms as mayor of the smallish city. She had a really nice house with her boyfriend. For many years, up to covid in 2020, they would hold a large Christmas party.

The house was decorated inside and out. They had a room just for coats, with a circular, department store rack and hangers.

There were several large Christmas trees in different rooms.

The dining table was a huge buffet with really good finger foods. Lots of people were in the kitchen to keep everything stocked.

In the large breakfast room, the table was stocked with desserts. On one counter was a variety of wine and someone to serve whatever you wanted. On another counter was a chocolate fountain with lots of things (fruit, marshmallows, etc.) to put on skewers and dip.

Down stairs was a full bar and bar tender.

There was lots of room to mingle and lots of comfortable seating.

We went to those parties for years. They were amazing.

I worked for a major tech company and we had a Christmas party that was impressive. The company rented the State House and there was an orchestra. There were several carving stations and there was all kinds of food including lobster. An open bar as well.

A year late after 9/11 there was not much of a party. We just had one with only my department. Maybe 50 people. We had it at a restaurant that was owned by a relative of one of our sales guys. Truthfully, i had a much better time at that party.

A startup company party some 20 years ago. First company dinner at a restaurant, then they had rented a movie theater, afterwards drinks at a bar and dancing for those who were still sober enough. Good times!

This years company Christmas party. They did a raffle, cash bonuses, and a freaking prime rib dinner, followed by scotch around a bonfire.

I don't go to Christmas parties, as I'm not a social person.
