someone asked what everyone was doing 25 years ago on New Year's Eve in 1999. So let's see if there's anyone with an even longer memory

my dad was 12 in 1974 and my grandma was pregnant with my mom 😲

this is audio only not video but this guy was the Ryan Seacrest of the olden days. He started doing this on the radio in 1929 right after the big stock market crash

I don't remember. I was in college and went home for the holidays. Very likely I was out getting stoned with friends, but I don't specifically remember it. It was a 44 hour bus ride home, and a 54 hour train ride back to college (yea, the train ride was longer than the bus).

I really have no idea. I wouldn't turn 21 for 14 more days, so I wasn't at a club or bar. I was probably partying with friends. One friend was renting a house in the middle of nowhere, so we could play music as loud as we wanted and party like Vikings.

That freaks me out. There was a Twilight Zone episode in the 1960s and they were referring to the 1920s the same way we talk about the 1980s.

In the 1920s the only tech was radios and cars and silent movies and primitive planes. 50 years before that they didn't even have those. A letter took 4 months to get to the other side of the world. In the 1960s we landed on the moon, and now we have TVs in our pocket and can text with someone on the other side of the world for free.

The technology of today, was discovered in 1920's by the chemists/physicists. Just took a while to bring to market.
