In many middleeastern countries there is no such practice or in islam it is not recommend to fo it sofar i know. In some european countries you dont even have to change your surname when marrying someone
I don’t really care. It’s a decision between them two.
I personally would love to take the husbands surname because I hate mine.
I am not the best fan of it, but it will make things a lot more simple for legal reasons. It also helps if both parents have the same surname for children with the same. If parents have their own, what do you give the children? Rotate every other one to keep things fair?
Where I come from it is not the norm, although where I my husband comes from it is. I kept my surname and we are both okay with it.
If I ever had a husband, I would take his last name. I’d be fine with that and wouldn’t have a problem with it.
It seems like if I were dependent of my husband, and that's not what happens now-a-days
neutral on it.
